It isn't that bad. I can still find a few shows that I like. Raising Hope, No Ordinary Family, Scrubs reruns, The Middle, etc. So no. I don't think that television has become a cesspool.

Ehhh, not really. The "safest" programmes (if you can call them that) always get the spotlight.

That's just how it goes.

Like everything really, there is always something good on Television. You just have to look around for something you enjoy.
There's a tonne of crap too, but hey you can't win everything.

If cartoon network is any indication then yes it is
Total Drama Island was basically the end of cartoons as far as I'm concerned. A bullshit cartoon parody of bullshit TV shows.

Well, that and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds. Card games on motorbikes... >grumble<

Yes. I've been getting sick of TV lately. Half the channels will have one show on for like 6 hours straight and they'll repeat half of them so it's really only 3 hours worth or they'll have the same movie on five days in a row 2 or 3 times each day. For example: FX had Baby Momma on every night for at least a week, followed by like 4 episodes of Two and a Half Men.

Then you have the wealth of stupid reality TV shows now. I don't really care that much about these shows, if you people like them that's fine with me. My problem with them is that now even channels like Discovery and the History Channel have a bunch of them too, that don't have anything to do with History or the types of things Discovery used to have (mainly science). I mean, Pawnstars, Swamp People, several logging shows, etc. WTF? That's not History. They used to be two of my favourite channels but now I rarely find anything worth watching on them. The real kicker is the cable companies expect you to pay $60 a month for it (I think that's what it costs now). I'm pretty sure Time Warner has been trying to raise prices as well though that may have only been for their internet service. If you want me to pay out the ass at least don't play the same show for a 4 hour block repeating the first half.

Some of it. Like Glee, if they are good at singing maybe they won't lipsync.

You just have to pick the best of a bad bunch. I watch very little TV. In fact, I don't currently own a TV, so I usually end up watching things 'on demand' over the internet. I watch maybe five or six shows, but the series start and end at different times through the year, so I always have one or two things to be watching.

Most of it is utter rubbish but there are a few redeeming shows. I only usually watch the main 4 channels or check Dave to see if there's a good lineup on but most of the time the episodes have been on for the last few days in a row.

You're just watching the wrong shows. There's a lot of good ones right now, especially Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother. And those are just the ones I watch.

Not really, depends on what you watch and how much you watch. I barely spend an hour a day staring at a TV screen, but that doesn't mean I think it's a cesspool. There is always usually something on to fit your interests.

Thoughg Colbert Report's still awesome just because of how much shit he pulls out his ass.
Yet you say that on a gaming website...

While I don't watch that much telley there are a few shows I enjoy which is pretty good considering it's basic Australian programming.
