I used to hate mushrooms with a passion and thought anyone who ate them had to clearly be nuts. Then I tried portabella mushrooms (sp?), and I realized that the canned mushrooms are the Extract of Nasty and real mushrooms aren't horrible. However, I will never grow to like green leafy things. :p

I did, recently, finally have to admit that *some* vegan versions of non-vegan food are not nasty horrible Frankenstein monstrosities that masquerade as food. I do maintain that gluten-free cake and pie are still miserable excuses for food, and I am so sorry for people who can't eat real cake and pie, but honestly, most vegan versions of real food are done just to be paranoid about every animal product, and I cry a little inside every time someone makes a cake without eggs, milk, or butter. There is a restaurant near where I live that specializes in vegan food. It makes me so sad.

But I have to say, that was some pretty decent vegan bread I tried that one time.

.....You don't like mashed potatoes?

Captcha: Tastes Good.

See??? Even captcha knows!
I don't understand why people mash the fuck out of their potatoes. I mean, you're basically eating a starchy paste. Nobody mashes steak into a paste. Nobody prefers their steak mashed into a paste. Who the hell wants to eat paste? It's not like your jaw's been wired shut! Fry them shits! Or at least bake them with a garlic butter glaze...

Back in high-school, I hated professional wrestling (I was on the amateur wrestling team, so I looked down on it for being "fake"), thought that Harry Potter was Satanic, and was a bit of a sexualitist (sorry, I hate the term "homophobe," as it's linguistically incorrect). Now, I'm an avid pro-wrestling fan, have all the Harry Potter books and movies, and am a supporter of gay rights.

I really don't like high-school me all that much.

There's a couple things...

Dressing/stuffing. I used to hate it. Now I'm rather fond of it. I can't eat it by itself but there's few things that aren't meat that I can eat by themselves. Still, I enjoy it.

Sometimes macaroni and cheese. But it has to be from scratch and baked. None of that packaged shit. With the slimy, liquidy cheese.

Actually that's mostly it.

I'd like to drink coffee because I wanna try those specialty drinks they serve at Starbucks and places similar. But still... the coffee is poison. I just can't do it. Tried a sample where all the chocolate and whipped cream and caramel was amazing. And then I got to the coffee and couldn't finish it.

If it makes you feel any better, I hate you too. You tea-drinking monster.

I've also become everything I hated. I didn't like most music because I was afraid it would turn me into one of those "scary teens who look creepy". Haven't really ever had a drastic change in taste (foodwise). I was mostly just afraid that I would turn into a big jerk...which I have. Hmm. Maybe music does make you a jerk and 11 year old me was right..

I used to be like the OP. I didn't like tea, found it to taste like hot water with milk. Then I learned that the tea I was drinking was just weak was all.

Now, I enjoy the occasional cup of yorkshire tea

Would you believe that at one point I hated salmon? The concept feels... foreign now.

Also, I used to hate electronic music. That changed so hard I still have whiplash.

Now I am a regular tea drinker, often having more than one cup a day. As I type this, I am sipping away at a lovely mug of Barry's Tea and it is delicious.

I used to hate avatar the last airbender.

I have no idea why. I was a hipster 14 year-old I guess.

We all make mistakes.

Mountain Dew. I despised it up until I turned 18. Now, it's like the only soda that I ever drink. It's just too good. Or maybe someone gave me a lobotomy on the night before my 18th so I would like it. I suspect my father, as he loves Mountain Dew, and he would probably give me a lobotomy to get me into Mountain Dew.
Also, on the subject of tea. How do most of you tea drinkers drink your tea? Like what do you put into it, how do you make it, and so on. I can't really say that I've ever had tea properly made/served, and to me, whenever I have it, it just tastes like hot water. If you gave me some hot water and said it was tea I would probably believe you.

It looks like the OP is the exact opposite of me. I've been a devoted tea drinker since 13, and vowed never to touch coffee. Guess what happened a couple of weeks ago?

Put one PG Tips tea bag into a mug with one teaspoonful of sugar. Add boiling water and stir well. Remove tea bag and add a dash of milk until it goes this colour:

You now have a proper cuppa. Enjoy!

Justin Timberlake used to annoy me too. But because of The Lonely island and SNL, I quite like the guy now.
I started liking him back when he did that song with 50 Cent AYO (Technology). I still don't own any of his CDs, but I love Lonely Island.

I used to get sick just from smelling coffee (I had a bad experience when I was younger), but now I can drink it just fine.

Oh yeah, I used to hate Anime, but then I liked "Hellsing," then I enjoyed "Bleach" for some 80 episodes, And now I drive around playing the soundtrack to "Initial D" in my car. (I also hated J-pop, while we are on the subject.)

When I was younger I used to despise gossiping or bitching of any kind. I stood by the belief that if you have a problem with somebody then you should just say it to them or keep your mouth shut.

While I still stand by that belief, in my current workplace I find it extremely difficult to not become hypocritical in regards to that stance, especially when it comes to my manager.

I get extremely angry with myself for not being able to avoid it, even if what I am saying about them is perfectly true.
oh please, tell your manager EXACTLY how you feel, then let us know what happens ;)

also to add in

used to fucking hate cheeseburgers with a passion, if you put cheese in my fucking burger, i will throw that shit back at your face.

as of late..(this happens alot, people don't care to listen when i make my order..) i've finally started to not mind it so much..(just the residue portions, usually it's too much damn cheese though.)

this flips more often than it should, but it's starting to balance out

used to hate beer and love hard stuff (mostly vodka and whiskey, sometimes tequila)

now it's complete opposite, if i even get a WIFF of whiskey, dear god i'm gonna throw up, but if i smell a beer you bet your ass i'm gonna ask for one.

With the exception of the sugar. I approve of this. Far too many people put milk in first (blasphemy) or don't allow time for the tea to stew and infuse with the water before adding the milk... Milk blocks the pores of the teabag and prevents it reaching a reasonable strength.

That said, I prefer a stronger cup in the mornings, and have mine in the traditional Yorkshire fashion (don't take out the teabag).

I don't take stances unless I'm certain they're right.
As a result my opinions on things almost never change unless faced with astonishing new evidence.
