I used to hate mushrooms with a passion and thought anyone who ate them had to clearly be nuts. Then I tried portabella mushrooms (sp?), and I realized that the canned mushrooms are the Extract of Nasty and real mushrooms aren't horrible. However, I will never grow to like green leafy things.
I did, recently, finally have to admit that *some* vegan versions of non-vegan food are not nasty horrible Frankenstein monstrosities that masquerade as food. I do maintain that gluten-free cake and pie are still miserable excuses for food, and I am so sorry for people who can't eat real cake and pie, but honestly, most vegan versions of real food are done just to be paranoid about every animal product, and I cry a little inside every time someone makes a cake without eggs, milk, or butter. There is a restaurant near where I live that specializes in vegan food. It makes me so sad.
But I have to say, that was some pretty decent vegan bread I tried that one time.
