I lie often. I like to keep a guise on myself and my emotions. Because just below the surface I will always know that a monster is RIGHT there. And if I told people the truth they would get angry, then I would in turn get tired of their bitching, and someone would get hurt...

It would be fairly easy for me since I very seldom lie. I could always avoid people if need be.

Note to self: keep away from samsprinkle when he can't lie.

So it's less "truth" and "lie" and more "ability to filter what goes through your head." I guess it makes sense. Every lie we tell is crafted, and usually after we've thought about what the truth is. If there's no filter between brain and mouth, then we'd both tell the truth if asked a question (no way to lie if you say what pops into your head) and would have to do things like he does in the courtroom, where he finally badgers his own witness.
Exactly.

Eh. I already don't lie. It's not that hard. Just be strict with yourself and think about what you say, and why. You don't have to lie. It doesn't solve anything.

And yes, that is true. I'm a mythomaniac. If I get started lying, I can't stop. I'll make up the most ridiculous stories, I'll "prove" them, I'll convince everyone I'm right, and I'll get away with it too, most of the time. I'm a really good liar.

That got me into trouble after I forged an email from my mother to my teacher to get out of school for a while, and with an earlier "friend" of mine that wanted to kill me. Taught me my lesson, since then I've done my very best to keep from lying. I won't claim that I haven't ever lied since, especially to my parents I still do it, but I've done pretty well, and gone several full months with no lies, the past three years.

Hrm, I probably could if I tried hard enough. Just as long as I'm not bombarded with questions from people.

I could go a whole day without lying. Hell, I could go weeks.

The trick is to omit information. If you're going to say something derogatory, just say it with a smile and accompanying laughter so the worst it'll be taken as is a bad joke or exaggeration.

That, and maybe having a really nice bed so you're asleep for 14 hours of the day.

I think it would be an eye-opener as to how much I actually do lie. But I think it would be totally do-able.

I wouldn't have a problem. I tend to not lie anyhow, no matter the topic. Not trying to sound high and mighty, because I don't do it out of any moral obligation. I just don't want to keep track of the lies no matter what. That is why all my friends and family know to be careful what they ask me, cause I will answer honestly. My mom didn't think I would discuss my sex life (when I was 17) with her, and asked me a question thinking I wouldn't answer. She doesn't do that anymore. :D
