Freedom of speech/freedom of expression. His argument is invalid.
If freedom of speech was really the Monopoly "Get out of jail free" card of life, then slander, libel, copyright, and many many other laws wouldn't exist.

Honestly, Jack Thompson and Facebook inhabit the same compartment of my heart that is reserved solely for the fiery hatred I have for destructive, evil forces of humanity. In this case, then enemy of my enemy is not my friend. He is still my enemy...

I would like to see someone follow through with the punching of good 'ol jack..and accidentally kill him. THEN Thompson's family could actually have a case against Facebook: that it allowed people to openly and forwarnedly plan the assault and accidental killing of another person. Then they'd both be gone forever! Yay!

Clearly Jack Thompson is unaware of the concept of hyperbole.
Can I just say, love your avatar :) I went to see them in Glasgow last October :D EARGASM!

OT: Jack, Jack, Jack. When will you learn to STFU? He never wins, so just give up.

Can we sue Jack Thompson for comparing himself being punched, in any way, to the outrageous questioning of whether President Obama should be shot? (Hoping that some audio will be leaked from Mr. President a la Kanye West...)

Well he has a right to complain, just because he's against vidja games doesn't mean he can get his ass kicked.

Slander/libel wouldn't apply in this case because Jack Thompson has made himself a public figure. However, this might fall under laws against threatening speech. Since it's on the internet, though, it'll be muy dificil to press criminal charges against those who posted the "threats" ... hence why Jackie Boy went with the good ol' American standard, a lawsuit.

It is a dark day indeed when I can picture his next step having the headline "Jack(ass) Thompson sues the interwebs" (Hell as crazy as he is I'll probably get sued for this message)

We need more cheese for this whine over here!!

Seriously he needs to stop taking it to heart and grow up, many people get abused/bullied these days and you cant go around suing people for it. Be the bigger man.

This may possibly be the most credible case that he's ever thought of. Let's hear it for the guys who put up the bounty. We'll just hope no one is dumb enough to take them up on the offer.

Still a flimsy case of course. Let's see him sue the entire internet when Google redirects you to an anti-Jack Thompson site.

Great, trust a few to make the many look bad :|
Wasn't that always his case? I mean, most gamers are level-headed individuals (lack online civility otherwise.)

It's few who shoot their parents for locking their Halo game up with a gun, or those who run away because they can't play CoD that cause trouble for us.

What's the saying? "One bad apple spoils the bunch."

He is just bored and hungry. He feeds on court cases, but lost his main source of food and is trying to not starve to death.

To be honest, his actions are actually justifiable in this case, although I don't know how suing Facebook would solve anything. I hate it when gamers act in such idiotic manners. i'm not a fan of the man's policies either, but that doesn't mean I'd join an online hate group against him.
