Eh. Frankly, with what I've seen up until now, I'm not impressed. If I hear it's worthwhile, then I'll see it.
Apparently from what I'm hearing via podcasts, you have to actually see the thing in 3D the way it's meant to be seen. But IMO there is far too much hyperbole surrounding this film. "Revolutionary"? "Change Movies Forever"?

I understand he may consider this to be his magnum opus, but come now. The counter argument was that the 3D shouldn't matter, you should be able to be sucked into trailers no matter what.

Either way, no matter how bad it could be, the man made Terminator 2. Greatest sequel of all time.

Im afraid the avatar movie isnt actually about the animated avatar. Because the name was pikied the name of teh actual cartoon avatar is "The last airbender"

That annoyed me. He could have named it something else, the original avatar already ahd the name.

Yeah I was like the same as you, Like wtf is this film, I thought it was a film about the cartoon series but it had an article on it somewhere on here and it seems pretty cool
I was confused about that too. It was about halfway through the trailer that I thought "Wait a second, this is not about Avatar." That this trailer is released about the same time as The Last Airbender (the actual Avatar movie) is really confusing.

It may have the technology, but the story has been done before. So I'm intrested, but slightly worried the story is going to be bad.

It looks interesting. It might not be OMGWTFBESTMOVIEEVER but at least they're trying. At least it's not another half-assed horror movie regurgitated from Hollywood's bowels, i.e., The Final Destination, Halloween 2, The Unborn...

From impressions I've read about the preview screening, the film is visually impressive but the character development isn't there.

Really a shame, since Cameron always seemed to mesh action and characters really well in his previous films.

The film based on the Avatar cartoon is called The Last Airbender and is being directed by M. Night Shayamalon.

I know, this sounds really disappointing for a director who is known to basically be good at EVERYTHING.

Ive seen a small preview, and all I know is that this movie will blow your mind.

Youll be watching, and then your mind will be cumming all over the place it will feel so good.

I'm looking forward to it, just because it's a story that was written 10 years ago and Cameron saved it for when he KNEW he could do it. That means he personally considers it to be either, his best work, or some of his best work.

Now we must wait and see how it comes out on film.
