Also the thread is full of "I knew it was a guy to start with" now I was only watching on my small laptop screen but I was totally fooled :D

Who's going to see this and want to buy that car.
That's what really boggles me. It's a very interesting ad to start with, for sure, but it has absolutely no context and I can't even begin to imagine even a niche market wanting the car because of that ad.
Isn't that the sole puropse of advertising something? Garner interest and coerce people into buying your product? Where do traps even fit into that. And "Not authority, but Auris" doesn't make much more sense either. Maybe it's implying that either gender can look good while driving it? I have no idea...

I found it funny but it didn't motivate me to buy a car

Also, I kind of like this twist on the sexy-lady-next-to-a-car thing, I demmand more sexy men near cars!

The copy for the car is " turn your ass to common sense / what is taken for granted".
Obviously the car's best sales point is its back design, and i guess toyota which is often perceived as the family friendly politically correct family car maker, wants to show that it can be edgy and be different from what people expect them to be.
So the sexy girl turning out to be a guy is a perfect way to show that off.

Does it sell the car or motivate me to buy it? No.
But i am very impressed at the risk toyota took.

Nah, we need more skinny and feminine men in general! In fact, I demand that everyone starts taking estrogen pills!

I do like skinny men, but this one is emaciated and a tad too feminine, plus he looks pretty haughty and full of himself which is what puts me off the most

Also, the estrogen would trigger recessive genes in most men causing the development of breast tissue, giving even the skinniest of men manboobs, unless that's you thing of course ;)

Way too skinny (thighs don't even touch), but I wish I could master that pout. That would get me some points. How about I just lose as much weight as he weighs? He can't be that heavy... Yeah, that works.

... What car?

At first I thought, "I don't really find her all that attractive." Then it turned out to be a guy and I still didn't find him attractive. I guess I just can't win, can I? CAN I?!

None?

What we need are exploitative car adverts with David Williams. Woof.

It failed as an advert in some respects... I know nothing about the car (didn't even know it was for a car until after when I scrolled down).

I don't find it confronting or offensive, I found rather funny in all honesty even though I doubt that was the intended reaction. And as a plus side for the advert though, I'm now not going to forget about it - even if I can't actually recall what it's for.
