I really enjoyed the humor in this one, though I still don't get the concept of what seems to be random pictures of kids and adults in costumes.
consoles - kiddies, PC - grown ups, mature audience.
Im not saying thats true but i think thats the concept.

he said "ease and comfort" not superiority, and in that regard, he is absolutely right. i own many PC games, but for action games i break out my Xbox 360 Elite rechargeable game pad. for FPS i use a mouse and key board for FPS games due to having better accuracy.
the thing with ease and confort is the fact that its different for everyone. there is NOTHING more confortable to me than a regular square keyboard to me. i found the "confortable, ergonomic" keyboards to be ways to break your arms that you got to pay for. you canr argue easy and comfort as it is not universal.
As far as beter control method, mouse is the best aiming method invented and we still ahvent invented anything that is more precise. whether its confortable or not is irrelevant to its accuracy superiority. however he claimed that keypad is superior.

OT: Never really got the graphics obsession some people have. Good graphics are nice and all, but the game's staying power usually comes from the most important part: the actual gameplay.
Higher resoulution enables graphics. It does not mean higher graphics. In fact, better graphics are only small part of higher resolution advantages. dont mix the two.

I'm not sure if I should be elated or worried that more and more people are shifting towards the PC.
Why woudl you be worried? I understand some peopel are jelous, some are angry (that their box isnt the most popular anymore), some genuinely hate it, but why would you be worried that people are choosing the better plantform?

Besides, all the next gen games look good anyway, and are still better looking than a lot of current games in the 360/PS3 generation.
We got indie games that look better than 8 year old games. of course new games are going to look better than oens running on 8 year old hardware.

But personally, resolution matters very little to me. I play shit like Disgaea and other 2D sprite games so a resolution in 720p vs. 1080p means nothing. That said, I personally don't do my gaming on PC either since pretty much any game I play has not had a PC port. Funny how that works out I guess.
Wrong. Resolution allows you higher view field, clearer text, ability to use higher resolution 2d sprites, which to be honest look brilliant, and plenty of other things. resolution isnt about AAA games looking big. It enables them to, but thats not where it ends.

But you know what? When I'm blowing by at 200 MPH in my custom car escaping a 5 star threat rating, dodging between police and SWAT barricades, the game is all a blur. You don't see one iota of that detail and you never will. That goes for ANY FPS game. It's a waste. The only type of game this would matter on is some cinematic play-by-rail type interactive movie. And that's Great. I'd love to see that.
Ill let you in on a little secret: not everyone play their games on constant 5 star treat. some people do go and look at pretty locales. even in FPS games. The original Crysis had pretty sweet looks that you could admore while spectating enemy camp planning your assault. Of course you could go in spray-and-praying but you dont have to.

Why again should I buy a console?
because nostalgia. because false rumors about pc being "complex". because humans.

Ease of use, size, cheaper initial outlay (for the upcoming generation which will cause PC minimum requirements to rise) and exclusive titles?
Let's not pretend they have no merits whatsoever. This thread is rapidly declining into frothing format wars.
Ease of use? I find PC much easier to use. subjective.
Size? because a large box and a slightly larger box is that much different.
Cheap initial outlay? you mean cheap as in doesnt have anything but basic functionality? Or that it cant do even 10% of tasts the PC does? or that it costs a , gasp, 50 dollars more to get same power out of PC?
Exclusives i can give you, this malpractive of restricting games to single platform to force costumers to buy it seems to still exist.

What the hell was that mecha game with the jetpacks in the video?!

That looks like so much fun! It's like mirror's edge with jetpacks, giant mechas and orbital drops!
Titalfall. PC and Xbox One.

It used to be that "graphics whore" was an insult. When did it become a point of pride?
When people realized that all else equal, higher graphics is better.
You should never sacrifice gameplay for graphics. you should never sacrifice graphics for nothing.

Honestly I'd put reaction time over what preferred control peripheral you choose. In shooters, close range to mid range your better accuracy doesn't matter much compared to who saw who first and reacted faster. Only time I see a mouse absolutely stomping a controller is at long range, when you're looking at a single pixel you need to hit (some exaggeration of course.)
Tell that to people who headshot you while running by without ever stopping, close range. no, they dont use bots.

But seriously, at what point are graphics simply good enough?
Depends on what you think is good enough, thus there is no simple answer. we have been over this already.

It's sort of funny. I can remember upgrading my monitor from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 and being surprised what a difference it made. It wasn't that I could make out tons of previously unnoticed detail on textures or that I had a wider field of view; it was just that suddenly the screen seemed less... cramped. Less overcrowded. I could sit back a little further.
Ech, i remmeber my 10 year old monitor running on 1600x1200 (yes, thats 4:3 for you young people), 10 years ago, but then kinescopic tv went otu of fashion for light crystals and plasma, and my next one was actually a downgrade from that with 1440x900 resolution. Fech, widescreen, what its good for, aboslutely nothing!

I'm not huge on FPS games these days...but I don't know, something about watching that gameplay just really grabbed me. At first I was a bit hesitant when I heard that there'd only be (x) number of giant bots, but seeing all those crazy little bastards with jump-jets doing wall-jumps and stuff, flying around like crazy, it looks like they did a good job at balancing it out.
the sad thing with modern FPS is that they are more interesting to watch than play.

No there is no. The console does not have physical capability to output at this resolution without upscaling. It wasnt designed to do this, ever.
Wipeout HD would like a word with you
As does Microsoft's XNA documentation wrt predicated tiling
IM sure they would Though i already know their explanation of upscaling.
