I honestly don't think Payday 2 should be considered AAA. Bercause when I think of AAA I think of:

BLoted dev budgets.
Bloated advertising budgets.
Focus testing.
Removal of features to 'broaden the audience.'
Moronic publishers.

Payday 2 doesn't deserve to lumped in with the likes of CoD and whatever 'failures' most publishers are complaining about.

The cops and robbers game mode would only be nonsense if they just did a mediocre job of it. Add depth, complexity, and tactics to it and I think it could be a fun mode. Give players on both sides the ability to send private messages to each other before the game starts and each side could try and bribe one another. If I was on the robbers side I would promise a member of the Swat Team half my take if they were to not take me down and instead take down my associates instead.

No, it would be nonsense no matter what they do because you WILL end up with Rank 1 cops against Rank 100 robbers, which then stop the former. Or vice versa.
Overall, it would be literally impossible to balance, resulting in a un-fun mode, that takes away resources from the coop (which they want to focus on), hurting THAT mode as well.
Deal with it: Overkill doesn't want to make that mode because it wouldn't be good, impossible to balance and because it would damage their ability to work on coop.

I can't speak for the other two, but Mercury had several girlfriends including at least one live-in and was known for fawning over women. It wasn't until right before his death that he specifically stated he was gay. I mean, not exactly the best-kept secret, but still.

Jim, on the other hand, has been pretty candid about his bisexuality, which I've always appreciated. He's in a position where he could blend in comfortably, and living in Missouri, I wouldn't blame him if he did.

PayDay 2 looks like it is a pretty fun game and I do want it. None of my friends have it though and I never play online with anyone unless I know the person I am playing with. I plan on getting PayDay 2 but I am going to wait when it is on Sale on Steam.

The amount of money some publishers spend on marketing is pretty ridiculous.

Something that should point out, that Overkill are a bunch of devs that used to run GRIN, which were run out of business due to a bad deal with Square-Enix. GRIN, btw, made Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and used to be AAA devs.

They're now doing their own thing. Read Wolf's bio on Payday, it aligns remarkably close to Ulf Anderson's (former owner of GRIN, current owner of Overkill, which is now owned by Starbreeze.)

Its a shame that the more successful games in a market are all HD remakes and "failures" that didn't quite meet expectations. Hopefully more games will be like Payday 2 and Dark Souls. No pandering, no babying, just good old fashioned make it for the people who play it.

(well, i said i am bisexual because that means i can/could fuck any gender/sex i want. This seems to be the easiest idea. but i never really cared on how to label myself or other because its not important for me. It is important if its needed to call out harassment or discrimination based on labeling, but for my private sexlife.. pf. as long as i like the person i am with, the gender of that person is irrelevant. consent matters.)
