Jim is right, Rayman for $60 was fucking ridiculous.

The day you stop playing Ubisoft games, is the day I can listen to you ***** and fucking moan about them tho.

Cheers!

EDIT: Oh wait, if you don't play them, how can you ***** about them? It's like voting for president... damn my nonsense!
How is rayman origins not worth 60 dollars?
Its a platformer with great music and gameplay and lots of content.
Not enough blood,gore,violence?
Oh yeah you are SOOOOOOO Hardcore.[/sarcasm]
I played the demo, and I don't think just another platformer with okay music and a decent amount of levels is worth $60. I was shocked when I saw it on a shelf for so much. With great platformers like Super Meat boy and N+ out there, why try selling a game like Rayman for so much? Hell, even a game with hundreds of hours of content like Disgaea 4 wasn't $60 when it was released over here.

I'm not really a fan of 'must have blood/gore/violence' thing, but I do play a few of them. My library (at least the games I play regularly) is more rated T for teen for the most part.
that argument does not work.
There are great shooters like section 8 prejeudice being sold for 20 euro's why must call of duty cost 60?
It is a 2d game but that does not diminish it's value.

Wait... I'm arguing my taste in games for a certain price with you?

I thought I was just explaining my thoughts... nvr mnd.

For the record, I didn't like Section 8, and Portal 2 (while still a great game) wasn't worth $60 either. At least Portal 2 sold two copies as one so a friend and I only had to pay $30 each. Also, some of my favorite games are in 2D.
Oh sorry i thought you meant it was impossible for a 2d game to be worth 60 dollars no matter the content.

I sense we're not going to see many Ubisoft funded ads framing the Escapist videos for a while.

Suits me fine, there's more than enough people out there willing to pay for ad space, no need to hold back on calling a bag of dicks a bag of dicks :)

He has a great point that the ONLY reason Ubisoft and companies like them get to treat us like crap is that so many of us climb into their toilet bowl, waiting to hand over another $60 for them to wipe with.

Every time you buy a game with crappy DRM or other stupidity programmed into its core, you're handing over your money and saying 'Thanks for making the stuff I love worse! Do keep it up!'

As for what looked like a flash game, sure it was selective reporting there, the game being on sale for the iPhone, but it's still going to be about five bucks retail, and it's cheeky as all hell to release it as a full price title for the Vita, just because you know there's no games out and, hey, maybe people will buy any old crap just to have something to play.

Just as an example, Popcap brought out Plants vs Zombies on disc for the 360.

Except they charge about $30, and it was part of a set of 4 of their range of games, making it not much more than buying the 4 games as downloads from their site. They COULD have released it for $60, and then we could have called them lots of names and not bought it.

Ok, I get that Ubisoft's DRM is annoying and stuff, but honestly I didn't have so many problems with it. Also, Uplay (Ubisoft's DRM) has an offline mode now, so I don't see why everyone is complaining.

I'd suggest I'm acting like that because I'm not sure I should let them screw me just because they're offering to go halves on the lube.

Fair enough if it doesn't personally bug you, but I was replying to the concept and the video, not an individual.

I don't believe any company should be messing with their honest customers to try ( and fail ) to punish a mythical group of maybe thieves.

Hmmph. I now see what inspired Capcom to pull that "We MIGHT make Megaman Legends 3 if enough of you buy the demo" bullshit.

The rest of that was old hat info for me though. I didn't do business with Ubisoft before, and I'm certainly not going to start again anytime soon.

We know that DRM does not work, Ubisoft knows that DRM does not work, the only possible explanation is that Ubisoft's is telling their investors it does work and the poor saps believe them. This is another level at which Ubisoft is horrible. They are lying to their investors. It is the only possibility that makes sense.

Hey, at least Jim Sterling doesn't promote rape like the Christian God. I personally have a different "God", though, if you'll forgive me.

Ubisoft is horrible. I wish they would literally just go out of business.

Ubisoft is basically like most other corporations. They want money and will do what the can for it. I think Ubisoft isn't as much evil as it is just a giant dick that fucks with you. Sony is the most vile corporation in my book. Capcom comes afterwards because of the fiasco with Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Those bastards, why would you release the same game twice at the same price in the same time frame!?

However, he said Assassins Creed II was shit and I just can't have that so for all intents and purposes his opinion is invalid.

I fear for Jim because if God actually does exist, he will unleash the seven deadly sins on him. If that's how the Bible works...

Ya know Jim, you've been talking alot lately about how game publishers are ludacris bastards that commit evil deeds just because they can. I play many games, I enjoy many games, and like to buy my games new, so as to support the developers that worked so hard to make the games I play.

But I don't often like to support publishers because, as has been stated, they are evil, evil people. My question is, what can I do to continue to support the developers that make the game I like, but not the publishers that make choices that I whole-heartedly disagree with?

You know what, if anyone can answer this for me, then please do so!

Praise Jim!

Get rid of the "always online" shit altogether, Ubisoft, Origin.....STEEEEEAAAAAAAM!...
Actually... Steam has an offline mode! You can play without being connected to anything at all (Literally if you play on a laptop!)
You need an internet connection though for some reason...

If we can't thank God because we can't see him, shouldn't we be thanking your parents or something? I dunno, just sayin'

I can confirm when DSL died because I forgot to pay my phone bill, I could load Skyrim ok in offline mode.

...

Okay I just checked. I've played two Ubisoft published games in my lifetime, both on the PS3. The first was the latest Prince of Persia which seemed like an ok game while I was playing it, but looking back, it was pretty bad. The second was Housemarque's Outland, which I thought was an excellent beautiful game at a strong price point for what you get, and would recommend anyone at least play the demo. Not as good as Super Stardust HD, but hey, what is?

Good job Your Jim-ness. It appears that you may be doing more research for your one-sided castigations. Normally I'd be curious about what Ubisoft had to say, but I just happened to see an Ubisoft employee in the comments saying that he fully understood the bile. Not quite a condemnation, but cut the guy some slack, he's probably happy to have a job, right?

By the way, the Greeks and the Romans didn't distinguish the 'heavens' from the sky. So technically, I am worshiping the same god as they did.

Heavenly Father = sky father
io pater ("Jupiter") = sky father
ios pater (father "Zeus") = sky father

So, wot's in a name?
