Okay, this has been building up for a while. Every time I read something like "Zomg I hate them so much they are a plague on music!" I twitch. Now, I can't keep it in any more.

Unless you are a 12-16 year old girl, you are not meant to like the Jonas Brothers. Therefore, all the ranting, raving and bitching is redundant.

If I buy a CD, I should get my money's worth. If I spend $30 to buy a 2Pac, Gorrilaz, or Origa CD, I am getting my fucking money's worth!

Personaly, I don't like the Jonas Brothers and if they come on the radio or the TV, I'll switch it over.

If we ignore for the moment the terrible music they produce, which i can easily ignore. Their target audience is underage girls. Anything that preys on little girls can't be good. Therefore they are pure evil and must be destroyed.

Wait, you know most all of us hate them,
you know we aren't meant to like them (as were not in there target demographic)
you know we are prone to rant about them when we hear about them
You don't want us to rant about them so you make a thread specifically about them, wich logic dictates we will cause us to rant...

But seriously, we know we're not the target audience, but that's beside the point - the Jonas Brothers suck. If you show us a shit sandwich, we're going to tell you it's disgusting - we don't need to sample it or be shit-eating aficionados for our observation to be valid because it's a shit sandwich, being disgusting is pretty much implicit.

Bitching about terrible things that are inexplicably popular is a time honored tradition! At least ignoring the Jonas Brothers is comparatively easy for me since there's a distinct dearth of 12-14 year old girls in my social circles - whereas I actually have cause to be directly annoyed by Twilight (curse my blood relations for their inexplicable myopia regarding that hideous abomination of a franchise, curse them I say!).

It's not that I hate them as much as I hate the ubiquitous advertising. I hate the fact that they are another corporate frankensteined monster, whored out for the purposes of maintaining Disney's control on the minds of the world's youth. In short, my hatred is reserved more for Disney than for a bunch of mediocre musicians who happen to be related.
