I carefully evaluate all sides of the argument and evaluate alternatives. Cost vs. gain. How much did I lose in comparison to what I have gained. If I have decided I cannot live with the changes, what are the alternatives?

In the case of OtherOS, I lost nothing because I didn't use the feature. I already own four computers, why do I need another one? I gained 3D support, Netflix and a bunch of other stuff. The alternatives are XBox 360, PC and Wii.

So, because you didn't use the feature, it's ok to take it away? How can you say you've evaluated both sides while being prejudice? And how did he not restore the OtherOS feature?

sony made the system, sony doesnt care about me, you, or anyone else in anyway. Its just good buisness. get over it, the world runs on money and they've lost some. So they blame it on whoever they can.

I do however find the "giving away" of personal info not right. That is unanimous.

Yes and no. Almost all of the global Internet infrastructure at some point passes through the United States. In other words, the United States is a hub and nearly all the fattest pipes that turn into smaller pipes going to different countries passes through the United States.

If a packet from your computer ever passes through an American server, and chances are pretty good it has, that information is a valid target for subpeona.

Persecution is an entirely different matter. Sony cannot prosecute non-nationals through a Californian court of law.

Sony proved time and time again that people just love bitching about everything, regardless of the actual magnitude of the subject. Even if I visited GeoHotz' website, I shouldn't be scared because I'm innocent. They're a large company that's trying to prevent losing money and they're somehow evil because they want to survive as a company.

All im hearing is a bunch of innocent till proven guilty people. Bitching about wanting to stay innocent. Therefore, if said innocent person is innocent, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO ***** ABOUT. The only people who should be worried about getting majorly sued is Geohot, and those who have actually done something wrong. And thats if the "evidence" that sony has been given doesnt get revoked due to being "un-constitutional"

How is this not breaching every consumer rights and privacy law ever written? I can't say I was much of a Sony customer to begin with, but I now will be actively avoiding them in the future. Screw your bottom dollar Sony, you're supposed to work WITH us consumers, not against us. That's not how business is supposed to work.
