So a trailer is finally released.

What are your impressions just from the trailer?

Do you think it can redeem that abomination Stallone made in 1995?

For once I want a non-DC/Marvel comic book movie to succeed on the box-office.

You know what I noticed that the plot is similar to that action movie released earlier this year namely "The Raid: Redemption". Will this be a good or a bad thing? I don't know, let's just hope this movie will be good.

Real opinion: Wow, is it me or Judge Dredd is trying to be a boring batman?

WTF opinion: There's a lack of Sylvester Stallone

This is not getting me even near excited.

Say what you will about the Stallone movie, it looked like Judge Dredd. This trailer looks extremely lifeless and bland; Not something you'd expect from a chaotic, post-apocalyptic metropolis.

I had absolutely no idea this movie was even coming out...

There seems to be a distinct lack of 'The Luh!' in this movie. Colour me completely uninterested.

And if a movie has '3D' in the title it's never a good sign.

I'll take the Stallone version any day. Couldn't give a monkeys about the character and to anyone who doesn't know who Judge Dredd is, I have feeling this trailer is going to underwhelm...

This looks floptastic...

I see a lot of....brown. Brown and black. What happened to colors? The Stallone movie worked for all it's absurdity, but this just....like the concept seems fine. Story works out from what I can see. (though I do wish the female rookie would get a helmet. It just seems silly for her not to have one when Dredd is constantly wearing his.) It just seems bland. Like you wanna ask the producers and director if they're even trying here. No one can really replace Stallone, but I think they could have gone for something other than someone trying to knock of Christian Bale's Bat-gravel.

I sorta liked the Stallone version, had a different feel to it, even if it wasn't exactly great.

And, Stallone was the right choice, IMHO, the character seems to need an over the top actor who isn't convincingly human.

This looks very generic action movie -ey.

Needs more LAAAAAAAWWWW!

Seriously though it will be pants. Judge Dredd is an anti-hero and a total dickhead, a commentry on over-zealous policing/facism in a world of chaos, crime and apathetic consumerism.

They'd be better off doing the ABC Warriors.

They probably could've gotten Gerald Butler for peanuts, or atleast someone else with loud threatening voice.

God, first Total Recall gets turned into shlock, now Judge Dredd, and soon, Starship Troopers.

What has Hollywood got against cheesy B-Movie Science Fiction from the 80s/90s?

"This video contains content from Lionsgate, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."
Until that gets fixed, I can't tell you. ;)

A man so hard his veins bleed ice...

Needs more Dredd in the trailer. Still, looks better than the abortion that was the Stallone film. Apparently Alex Garland worked on this so I'm still optimistic. Oh, and...

The irony is that those movies - Total Recall and Judge Dredd especially - already were shlock. It's these new versions that are trying to add this level of bland depth to it, totally undermining the fun campy nature of the originals.

Not that there's anything wrong with trying new things with a franchise, but this new Dredd looks terible. The new Total Recall atleast has capable actors in it, though it'll still probably end up a more flaccid version of Minority Report.

Total Recall just looks bleak compared to the original Arnie romp. Maybe closer to the source material, but it's still looking like Yahtzee's grey sludge.

First hing, did they really had to use that song that was also used for the UK Bayonetta trailer? I don't hate that song but I pretty much had associated that song with Bayonetta now.
Also great they nick that film film The Raid for a part of their film (the part where they enter that building owned by that woman and she locked it down and order her underling to killed the two.
Also Dredd voice isn't really doing it for it as it's like a wannabe Batman.
So overall I'm not too impress with the film.

Not as good as the 1995 version.

I proudly am the only person on the planet who likes the Stallone version.

Edit: Jeeze yes, I know I'm not the only one who likes the Stallone film. It was a joke because popular Internet opinion is that it's bad.
