If you snipe fairly often, you'd know. Sniper bullets don't 1 shot Juggernauts like they do everyone else. So basically Juggernaut makes you immune to Sniper deaths.

Still, Martyrdom and Jammer are WAY more annoying than Juggerwhore.

Well, from having tried to play CoD4 on the console online, I do see the problem when you're playing for the first time online at level 0, and have 0 perks and crappy weapons, and everyone else is completely invisible with high powered guns, you seem to have this feeling that the game is made only for people who got the game on day one, and if you try to play now, you're simply fodder for someone else's scorecard.
Actually, in both games, very good weapons are available to the player at a very low level.

In Call of Duty 4, the weapons that are generally seen as the strongest weapons in the console version of the game, the m16a4, mp5, ak47, and m40a1, are all available the second you can start creating classes (I believe it is level 5).

In Call of Duty: WaW, the mp40 is not obtained until level 11, but surely one can manage with a thompson for the few games it takes to get to level 11.

As for perks, stopping power, juggernaut, steady aim, and deep impact are all very capable perks which are available at a very low level that I use throughout the prestige until I get dead silence.

I know this has already been mentioned, however...

All of the best guns and perks except for Bandolier and 3x Frag are available from the start. The 4 best eapons in the game (M16, MP5, M40A3, and RPD) and the best perks (3x Special Grenade, Stopping Power, Steady Aim/Deep Impact) are all available the moment you can start making classes.

People hate to lose, but they hate blaming themselves for losing even more? Thats my best guess.
O trust me, you hit the nail on the head then beat the crap out of the wood.

Yeah, the only time I will ever use Juggernaut is if I'm using a shotgun, that seems like it's the only time you'd ever need it. Of course, there are those pathetic little whiners who have to have juggernaut just so they don't die when they get hit by a couple shots.

Juggernaut's main tactical advantage is that it cancels out stopping power, and what is one of the most used perks may I ask? You guessed it.
Juggernaut is a valid tactical counter to stopping power, it puts to players on equal terms and forces them to rely on other perks, their weapon loadout or just plain ol' cunnin'. Now, if people using stopping power would change tactics against these juggernaut using players; but unfortunately, people just whine instead of playing differently.

I was out gunned, out perked and was being camped from a secret location I knew nothing about. I have no idea why I chose to wright this story on a Gaming Discussion Forum on The Escapist Mgazine, but I thought if you read this and you use those three terrifying perks, you would rethink you CoD strategies, and play like a real player. But I dought very highly that anyone will change, their way of play.
You even say you were out-matched, if you admit this is so, then why do you keep using the same tactics when you know they don't work well in this sort of situation?

Thing is, Juggernaut annoys me. But I don't care - it's in the game. Stopping Power cancels it out. So why do people *****? Because whoever is using the perk is a better player than them.

I use Martyrdom on a shotgun class, and I get called a n00b. But at the end of the day, who got the kills? Me. Who saved the HQ? Me. I used what the game gave me. I didn't hack, cheat or glitch. I used a perk properly and came out the winner. You know what that makes me? A better player.

And Betties are not noobish anyway. And I hate the term noob, it's moronic. And no weapon, perk or camping position is noob-ish. If it's in the game naturally, without glitches or cheats, then this player is using it to their advantage and winning. They are the better player for not using some code of honour and ignoring a useful perk. I never use Juggernaut and almost never use Martyrdom because of personal preference anyway.

A real player is one who uses the game to his advantage - not a guy screaming "STFU N00b! HAX!"
This is up there with the 'it's tactics' arguement that you will often recieve from some people. Ok, these things are in the game and they do win games but that's not the point (we were in fact debating the 'ethics' of using perks like Juggernaught and Martyrdom rather than the effectiveness).

Some people often say 'I don't notice the difference' but I have on numerous occasions had situations where some lone juggernaught players have been near unkillable despite being riddled with shots from various weapons (especially if used in conjunction with cover and camping tactics, those bastards are pretty much unmovable), either these people are the legendary sons of Odin himself or we have a bit of a balance issue (one time I remember being in a private free for all match and a lone player managed to massacre all of us with an M16, Juggernaught and Martyrdom, he could effectively kill us in one shot and on the few occasions we did take him down we often wouldn't live to get away with it).

The primary goal of a camper/power player is to make the game as easy as they can for themselves and as hard for everyone as is possible, this is like agreeing to play tennis with someone on the premise that they have to use an old, heavy worn out racket while you get a cutting edge, specially designed one...also they have to play with the sun in their eyes (strictly speaking there's no rule that forbids such circumstances from occuring but it's still pretty easy to see how it's not a fair contest).

I hate to ruin your party, but that player was using the perks he was good at to win. You describe him as killing you in one shot? Maybe he was cheating, but I rather like to think that is the haze of anger, and the moment there. He was using Juggernaut and you claim it made him untouchable? While that is untrue, it proves the point that he was the better player for using a perk to stay alive. I'm certain he wasn't unkillable, but required more shots than you are accustomed to needing to kill someone.

And it is a fair contest - Stopping Power gives you 140% Bullet Damage, and Juggernaut gives you 140% Bullet Resistance. He is using a perk that lets him stay alive, instead of one to make it easier to kill. That is how the perk system works. You could be using his perk, and he could be using yours, but the result would be the same.

In your analogy you say that they make it hard for the enemy and easy for them. Well.... duh? Are you saying you like to make it nice and easy for the enemy, strolling out absent mindedly, and make it nice and difficult for yourself, maybe using a Skorpion with Double Tap and never really aiming.

Of course they want to make the game harder for others and easier for themselves. In the same way snipers will put down claymores to make the game harder for others, and get up high to make their lives easier.

Maybe you were lagging - maybe this player had a great connection. Maybe he was cheating. But I think that he was just the better and more talented player for dominating your entire team, using tools available to everyone.

personally, i dont like martyrdom, i only use it when im trying to get grenade kills for the challanges (i guess thats kind of cheap, i dont know). it annoys when im killed by it, but its not like they're cheating, they didnt enter a code to get an unstoppable perk that cant be countered. they are just using what the game gave them.

--CAUTION: Flame-inciting humour alert. Try not to panic--

It's a bit like the MPs' expenses thing, isn't it? Conscience versus compliance.

Yes, Juggernaut and Martyrdom are in the game, they're allowed by the rules... you're not "cheating", but if you use martyrdom and are okay with yourself, you have no conscience.

Totally and fully agree with you !
i really think that code of honour ruins some games (i'm looking at you MGO with your "no shotgun" and you to Gears 2 with your "no chainsaw")

This.

If its in the game, therefore its legit, and if people use it as a part of a tactic, then fairplay, just makes it all the more impressive when I gun them down.

I agree, Martyrdom is much more annoying than Juggernaut, but the UAV Jammer is only annoying when someone using it is camping in a corner and using a silenced weapon, also I find Last Stand more annoying than Juggernaut.

I like using Camo and dead silence/extreme conditioning and a flamethrower, so if you think juggernaught is bad, just play with me, you will hate the flamethrower much more trust me ;)
