Any worries you may have about the game's message or intent will disappear completely once you finish the game and see the last mission. I mean...wow.

I spent far too much time tying 747s to other 747s and cackling maniacally as I piloted them into a spinning watery doom to worry about the real "content".
Whoa...can you elaborate how exactly that process worked? I think I may want to try that...or something similar, haha.
I can elaborate, but it's a pain in the nuts. There might be some videos on youtube of it.
You have to go to the island airport where they have a nice long runway and stand at the intersection of the runway and the...uh...747 parking lot. When one comes to the runway, immediately yank the driver out and kill him. Drive the plane down the runway a short distance, just far enough to repeat the hijacking of the second plane.
Once you have the second plane hijacked, drive the second 747 behind the first VERY SLOWLY. Park it as far behind the first as you can without the distance being too far for your hook, but close enough that you can pull the second plane relatively straight. Also, try to center the grappling line as best you can on both planes so you won't be pulling the second at an angle or sideways. It's not as easy as it sounds, but it gets much easier after you do it a few times and get your method and schedule of events down to a science.
Pulling the second plane down the runway for takeoff can be really frustrating. Get in the first plane and start to accelerate SLOWLY. If you accelerate too fast, the line will break and you'll have to set it all up again with the parking and lining up and such. By the time that happens, there's probably a new plane barreling down the runway and it's very like to just ram into everything you've worked so hard for.
If you accelerate SLOWLY down the runway, you'll be able to pull the second plane. Once both planes are at a constant acceleration, you should be able to ease into full throttle. The runway should be just long enough to get you in the air, followed by the second plane shortly after.
Once you're in the air, you've got a little time to gain altitude. After that, it's a vomit inducing trip as the 747s dance around each other, spiraling toward the ocean. I've seen some videos where people have managed to keep control, but that's fucking boring.
I know it sounds like a pain in the ass, but you'll get it. I also know that it sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth. I guarantee you, it's not. The payoff is well worth all of the setup.
This guy does it slightly differently...
