So my console would be under warranty if it red ringed (which is a hardware issue) but it isn't since the disc drive is busted (also hardware issue). Microsoft even addressed this issue by replacing drives with better ones, yet they want me to pay 125$ to fix something that was their fault in the first place. They sell me a 550$ console with shoddy parts and expect me to pay to have it fixed? The supervisor I spoke to even agreed that its stupid to cover one hardware failure but not another even though they both stem from the same issue (Microsoft using shitty parts) but she couldn't do anything about it because of company policy. So now i could go buy an arcade for 75$ more than the repair cost and get the dubious bonus of a 500 mb memory card and be stuck with the same shitty 20 gig HD or I can spring for the elite and push the total I've spent on this thing to almost 3000$. You'd think after spending that much money on something it would work after 2 years. On top of all this crap I've recently bought a zune that after 2 weeks inexplicably corrupted 90 gigs of music and video for reasons Microsoft doesn't explain, their fix was reformat and hope it doesn't happen again. The worst part about all this is that their competition isn't worth switching to.
