If I go to a nice restaurant, I try to tip around 15%, because my parents taught me that's the normal rate for tips. I can't always afford it, though..

And whenever I see a charity box, I put in whatever loose change I have. Unless, you know, the loose change is all I have and I need it...Sorry, Mr. Santa-in-the-Mall, I need to get lunch today.

I'm also someone who tips a specific amount rather than a percentage. I feel that this is an easier way for to tip them based on how good the service was. Of course, for me, tips also depend on my monetary situation since I'm pretty far from financially stable. The most I tip on a meal usually works out to about a tenth to a quarter of what I payed for the food depending on the service. Things like tattoos I tip about a tenth of what I payed (which usually works out to about 25-30 bucks where I go).

I'm a really generous tipper. I always calculate 20% and then round up to the next dollar. . . so I usually tip around 20-25% however if the service sucks I'm really mean. I was out with some friends at this horrible little cafe and the waitress ditched us for over an hour, while helping the other table the whole time (yes there were only two tables taken in the entire cafe). I left her a 15 cent tip. You can't leave no tip no matter how awful the service is, because they could think you've forgotten so you have to leave a horribly insulting tip like pennies or something similar. I swear I'm not a mean person I usually tip really well, but if the service sucks they need to know about it!

God, I'm completely paranoid about the tip. I never want to stiff someone on their potentially shitty job, so I mostly give as much as I can afford. Which, for the most part, is pretty damn good I hope.
For example, 10 dollar meal, probably a 4-5 dollar tip. If you keep the coffee cup filled, you've earned it in my opinion.

Ha! I was at a pub last weekend and the waitress didn't give me my change. She just kept it, like a forced tip or something! She was terrible too. I got it back in case anyone was wondering.

I never really tip. If I ever notice like a few seconds too late I paid a few coins too many I just say "keep the change" because I can't be assed to carry a fuckload of 1-coins in my wallet.

I don't tip because I'm a bastard and also because it seems stupid to tip waiters and deliverymen when I don't tip the milkman or the cashier in Sainsburys, though I wasn't adverse to stupid tourists giving me tips when I worked at my local B&B.

In Germany, the salary of a waiter/waitress is SUPPOSED TO BE decent enough to get by with that (don't know what it is actually like), so here no one cares much about percentages.

I tip irregulary, if the service was good enough i usually round up to 5 or 0, but only in "real" restaurants or with the delivery service

I usually tip, unless the waiter is an ass or I have to wait an hour for a pizza.

And there is a tradition in Poland - 7%-10% tip. So if you are going to a restaurant, you MUST tip that much.

Thank God we don't live in Spain - they tip more AND waiters earn a lot more.

I usaully tip the pizza/chineise delivery guy a couple of bucks. If I have the money to do it then I'll order a ten dollar pizza, give the guy a twenty, say keep the change then watch how fast the guy runs to get out of there. Is this cruel or funny,I can't honestly tell

I give depending on the service, the quality of the food and how willing are they to return it, if I'm not satisfied.
7%- Bad
10%-Not that bad
15%-Mediocre
20%-Above Mediocre
23%-Good
28%-Excellent
50%-Godly (Has only happened once.)

People who don't tip have never worked a job where they depended on tips to make decent money. Fact.
I'd also add that I'm very careful about who I complain to in stores and restaurants too. The manager or head office in writing most of the time, as it's very rare that any problems I have are caused by the one overworked guy making minimum wage in front of me.

Amazes me just how few people even thank store staff for assistance, sure they're paid to do it, but if they're actually trying and not putting in the minimum required effort not to get sacked, how about acting like you're dealing with another human being?
