That's just sad, although the one part about the girl playing on power metres is a little concerning.

So much for the future of mankind. Kid's will grow up to be such *edited* overprivilaged *edited* pussies that North America and any other country sharing the same culture will be conquered as soon as they take power.

Our society is just ridiculously over protective.

We'll probably hit a wall with it eventually and things will start to go in the opposite direction. Then a few kids will die because they jumped off a bridge into a lake or something. Then it'll shoot back up the other way.
Sir, you have just quantified countless millenia of Human behaviour.

This shouldn't even be aloud to go to court. It is basically destroying any sort of fun that kids deserve to have at a young age, let alone the fact that it doesn't accomplish anything that would make a decent impact on their society

I assume it's been banned because of the bullying associated with the game.

And yeah, there is bullying in the game and yes, there are fights.

But I believe this is good for children. If you try to pretend to children that they will never be picked on, never bullied, never made fun of and never hurt - how the fuck are they going to function in the real world? Because all that stuff totally doesn't exist in the adult world...

I'm sick of this over sensitive reaction to "bully victims" and banning games and trying to morph reality.

I am really glad I live in Ireland, where they don't randomly pass crazy laws like this. Sure we sometimes forget to take out laws once they get outdated, but they were put in there for good reason. (I.e the Laws on when you can herd livestock through a City. I think we've taken that out now though.)

If we stop the children from playing their little games, soon they will gain a collective conscious and rise up as one and feast on our flesh. No, but seriously banning tag is just plain stupid.

When I was a kid, we played a version of tag where the person who was "it" got a stick. Then the people they tagged with the stick had to go around and tag the rest of the people. But if the stick was dropped everyone was free. You can imagine the injuries that can occur from a stick fight, or forcing to make someone drop a stick. Still have a stick scar on my leg.

Meh ... not so much a case of 'parents being overprotective' ... it's a case of one out so many parents filing frivolous lawsuits and nobody wanting to be sued.

They let us take slapshots and full on check people in club hockey around age 11. God forbid we let kids play tag at this age too!

Seriously?

That's it, I'm buying an island in the Atlantic too small to be seen from satellites, I shall call it Buchtopia. Who wants to come with me?

I've been in a school in which 7 or so year-olds were not allowed to make a gun shape with their hands and pretend they're in a Star Wars battle, the same school also used to have a see-saw and a Slide but people would hold onto the slide while under it and fall when someone went down the slide so they got rid of it and the same happened to the see-saw because people would get off when their end was down, and the person on the other end would fall and feel a bit hurt. -_- Utterly ridiculous.

I'm just throwing this out there but please consider this idea.
1. They ban tag (fear of being sued)
2. Kids get bored, parents buy them the new [insert nintendo game].
3. Kids get bored, want more excitement.
4. People make violent video game.
5. Kids like it (thats all the roughness they get after all).
6. They make more violent video games, parents freak out...

So which is it? Gears of war or tag?

Is it so hard to ask for both?

You meant to say overprivileged. More likely, you meant to mean overprotected.

You assume? There's an article in the first post. You almost certainly had to have seen it.

This is seriously the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Tag is pretty much the most harmless game on earth.
