I'll give you Fairly Oddparents on the offchance you saw one of the newer episodes (where they decided every bit character needed an entire episode surrounding them, and every established one needed 3 dozen), but to my knowledge Spongebob never started sucking. I stopped watching kids TV alltogether a few years ago, so maybe new episodes suck, but the only real problem I remember about it was that it was overplayed. When I watched they only had 80 episodes, if that, and it was shown about 12 times a day, so in theory you could watch every showing and in a week see every episode ever made. Considering that adult shows need at least 100 eps before going into even once a day syndication it limits the show's universal appeal. But it was still funny. Probably the best kid's show of this generation (definitely the best mainstream one).

No-one's mentioned Jem yet? I loved the old He-Man too, when Skeletor was so wonderfully camp - Round the Bend was WEIRD, and Willow The Wisp freaked me out. Rude Dog was SO commercial, but kinda punk...

I adore 80scartoons.co.uk by the way, its got quite a few cartoon show intros on it as well as the database.

Anyone remember Andi Peters (was it him or Crane?) singing Ulysses with Edd the Duck?

It was Peters I think... i know Edd the Duck was in the Broom cupboard with both of them. Glad im not the only one who remembers Round the bend or Rude dog

Born in '91, I watched TV like a slave. I can't possibly name all the countless shows I watched ritually every morning.

Read an interesting Graphic novel the other day called 'Pyongyang'. It's about a Quebec animator who does some travelling in North Korea-anyways
He talks a bit about the subjects of his animation: children's shows and very eloquently demonstrates the Kids show design process in one panel:
A Picture of a meat grinder with several books reading 'classic comic books' in the feeding tube with some kind of sludge pouring into a television, in front of which is a dazed-looking child who appears to be quite amused.

For me it was Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, The Clangers, Come Outside, Chucklevision, Camberwick Green, the Pokemon craze of 1999 - 2000, SMTV, Kenan and Kel. I'm sure everyone thinks this, but kids T.V today is crap. And what happened to Saturday morning shows? We had 'Live and Kicking' and SMTV, with Ant and Dec. The only good kid's show these days is Drake and Josh.

Did anyone else ever see Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs? I'm like the only person in my group of friends who remembers that one.

Invader Zim, Batman: the animated adventures and the Powerpuff girls were all great. I also really liked Teen Titans.

What about the true classics like Dungeons and Dragons and Go-bots. And for a gaming forum I can't believe no one brought up Captain N the Game Master or the Super Mario Super Show with Captain Lou Albino as Mario. There was another show that had Acclaim characters Like Max Force from NARC, Q-bert, and a talking Bigfoot. Oh and Mr T and T-Force!! Good stuff.
