Generally yes. But it must be for some purpose. I do not go out of my way to hurt or kill any animal but if an insect is bothering me I feel I am justified in killing it.
Insects outnumber humans several hundred to one.mad825 said:................
who cares?
ok it may not seem nice however it's not like you are going make them extinct, the only way for that to happen if you completely remove the environment they like..completely...from earth
The ones I was referring to though were more the harmless ones, like crane-flies or grasshoppers... surely somewhere deep down it's just wrong on some level to take the life of one of these if it's existing harmoniously with you?Samurai Goomba said:It is not morally "wrong" to kill bugs. People say spiders are our friends, but they can poison and kill us. Flies root and lay eggs in manure and can spread disease. Hornets and wasps will go out of their way to attack and sting anything that's remotely close to them. Mosquitoes are flying bug vampires. Ticks attach themselves to your body. Leeches likewise. Scorpions crawl into shoes and then sting toes with their poisonous barbs. Ants will build their hills right next to human habitations and then send their warriors to steal our food and bite our legs whenever they feel like it.
Killing bugs is awesome.
I'm not doing anything to stop the many humans being murdered across the planet by stupid tribal wars, or famine or disease. If I care about the plight of the starving, dying and oppressed humans and do nothing, how much less should I do for bugs I feel nearly nothing for?MiracleOfSound said:The ones I was referring to though were more the harmless ones, like crane-flies or grasshoppers... surely somewhere deep down it's just wrong on some level to take the life of one of these if it's existing harmoniously with you?Samurai Goomba said:It is not morally "wrong" to kill bugs. No, also their lack of a central nervous system makes me care less.MiracleOfSound said:Do you feel it is wrong to kill insects/other bugs?
Under what circumstances do you think it is morally acceptable?
virus
