I really like the demo. Controls were intuitive, graphics were amazing, gameplay was fun and my character actually felt like I was playing as a person. Definitely looking forward to the full game.

If my internet was halfway decent I would update my PS3 and download the patch.
this sucks, I have my special code for the ticked, but I can't use it.

its like having your cake but not being able to eat it.

It's fucking amazing, just finished my 4th play through. for those complaining about controls just simply go to the options and change it to Alternate 2 i think, and i had to turn up the sensitivity as well for my taste. The cover mechanic works marvelously, rock solid. It is slower than COD 4, but once you get used to it, it has a more realistic feel to it, just like the jumping, and the shooting. The enemies are smart...very smart, but you can still take them out if you think about what you do, such as Throwing a grenade forcing them to run and then pop them in the head. The sounds fits the chaotic gameplay perfectly, feels like your actually in a war, not some BS.

All it needs is a crouch toggle option, a stick dead zone adjuster, a tweak to the hud display options, and full controller mapping and it would be great. The controls are the only thing keeping me from marrying this game personally.

My PS3's wi-fi sucks because of it's awkward location, and is even worse when I actually use it (though for some ****ed up reason it works amazingly when I go onto PSN games), probably gonna hold out on downloading this till I take it upstairs and plug it into my router.

Edit: Hold on are us Brits getting a demo before Americans for once.
Yes we are my friend, we also get the full game a few days before them as well.
Oh how the tables have turned lol.

Already I wish that this demo was longer.
I have already played it too death because I love it so much, regardless of the fact that it can be completed in under 5 minutes.

So who will be buying it?

I will considering I've preordered it. The second game I've ever preordered in my life! LittleBigPlanet was the first.

what?

i never thought halo was good. i had to stop playing halo halfway through because the combat was so boring and frustrating. what halo did, however, was to kick start the onslaught of bad games for consoles, much more than anything else. to me, games like halo, killzone, gears of war, resistance and all other equally bad titles can burn in hell for all that i care.

come to think of it, halo did the same thing for the fps console games that world of warcraft did for mmo gaming: it ruined the genre, and now everyone wants to copy it because they believe it's the only way to success. urgh, the fools.
Just out of interest, what sort of games do you usually play?

You could always make a new user and get a EU account if your desperate to play it now.
Uh, this is going to sound like a really newbie question...but. How do you make a EU account exactly?
Make a new user, set up a PSN account on that user and make the region UK or Australia or whichever country has the European store. Just fill out everything normally and probably use your own address when they ask for one. They don't check.

I wouldn't use your own address. I've created a few fake accounts and I just put 'g' in each field, except for e-mail where I put '[email protected]'. I use 'g' because it's the default letter when the keypad opens, no other reason.

As for the demo, wack controls (melee should be right stick; aim should be L1 ffs) but amazing graphics & gameplay as expected. The guns feel particularly brutal.
Change the controls to Alternative 2. Jeez, doesn't anyone look at the options before they start playing a game?

I know, I posted earlier that if people want COD4 controls, then they need to change them.

Downloaded this yestoday and was dumbstruck by the visuals and the meaty, visceral feel of it. A little dissappointed about the lack of alternative fire (correct me if im wrong) as i used to enjoy that in K1.

Oh, by the way how freaking awesome is it when someone shoots your rocket and it spazzes out of control :D

i used to play half-life deathmatch on a competitive level. i like fps games that know how to balance things so you don't get combat fatigue in single player mode. recently i've played team fortress 2 and guild wars (pvp).

a game with pure combat offers no challenge because it's just the same. war is the same whether you play it through the eyes of a world war 2 soldier or on a foreign planet. there's no change beyond scenery and general graphics, there's nothing for the mind to do or puzzle itself with. there's no room for ingenuity or skill, and without that, there's no real need or purpose for a game.

there are tons of ways to design games with proper combat where you could be inventive in your methods of fighting. instead, companies just pack up the same piles of junk into new boxes that differ in that a cover system or that it's a genuine world war two atmosphere. to me, that's just recycling gameplay at its worst.
