I had about a 1:2 ratio of mic users when I was playing Borderlands on PS3. I don't think that's much worse than Halo (from what I've seen played) online. Then again, I've only seen 1 person with a mic this past week. It just depends on the game.
I think games should give you an incentive to have a mic. I think it would be cool to have like a little bit of a buff if you have a headset connected. Now, some people might just plug one in and not talk, but perhaps you also need to be near people with headsets for it to be active, or it's push to talk, and if you don't talk every once in a while, it doesn't count for you. Just something I would try and incorporate.

As for Killzone 3, I'm excited for it. I personally liked the story modes of the first two, and I really liked the online of the second one, it almost had a team fortress/day of defeat class style that made it important to have a healthy mix of classes. I think they can really nail down that formula in the next game if they try to do that again.

"Sev, move up!" "Yeah! Pop their tops!" Let down.

Those are the three things that come to mind whenever I see anything related to Killzone. The trailers always make the game look like it's going to be HUGE battles with me being only some random soldier fighting in them. Instead, I get sent off with Rico, who constantly yells at me to do things that he can do just as easily.

Sad part is, Killzone 3 is looking like it's going to suck me in again. You'd think I would have learned after Killzone and Killzone 2...

So now Killzone 3 is on its way and I'm pretty excited now. But the hype for it doesnt seem nearly as much as kz2. Why is that?
Probably because just like the Fable franchise the Killzone games have been crushed under the weight of their own hype. Guerilla have probably learnt their lesson and will let the game stand up under its own merit rather than pumping up its tyres with a load of hot air.
Woah. Please don't disrespect the franchise like that. There was hype for KZ2 and it delivered. Fable 2 got hyped and it turned out worse than the original Fable. KZ3 looks to fix all the problems people had with the second as well as add newer things to gameplay.

I knew Fable 3 was going to be shit when I saw this

Killzone 3 seems to be advertised too much on the fact it's 3D and uses Move controls, two things that don't interest me in the slightest.
