I went on my ps3 for the first time in a while and decided to play some killzone 2. My initial experience with the game can be described as... awkward. Most reviewers said that the sluggish feel will disappear after a little while, and aiming and moving will become more natural. That never happened for me. The entire game was like I was lopsided and the controls were pretty bad. I almost always hip fired because clicking in to zoom was just terrible. However I still had some great fun with it. The set piece moments were epic,it was a hard game, but never too hard, except maybe the fight with Raddec (Seriously Raddec, GO FUCK YOURSELF, beating you in under a half an hour is not something that should be rewarded, and you may have been the hardest boss iv had the pleasure of killing in a long time) it made the grey brown environment thing everyone is into look pretty incredible and multiplayer was fresh and unique.
So now Killzone 3 is on its way and I'm pretty excited now. But the hype for it doesnt seem nearly as much as kz2. Why is that?
New to the game is jetpacks and mech suits, which look pretty cool, but when do they not? New environments include arctic tundra and lush jungles. Also the game is A LOT bloodier.
Some things that they are working on that surprised me is story. The story of the kz2 was generic but slightly interesting, but almost completely destroyed by one character, you know who I mean. As was released recently, the game will have a whopping 3 hours of cut scenes, no mgs4 but still, looks like they might of taken a look at the script of their last game and realized how ridiculous it was. Also, the game looks even better than its predecessor, which is saying something.
The multiplayer is getting some revamps, but a quick side note, is it possible for ps3 to make a rebound in terms of its community? How many games have you been in on a ps3 game where people had mics? Its embarrassing. Its just something that needs to be fixed but I cant think of a reason how. Its up to people to go get mices, or else sony should just start selling them bundled with the system. (Last time I checked, they didn't do that, I could absolutely be wrong, and if anybody disagrees with me and people actually do play with mics most of the time, let me know because im curious)
Its shaping up to be a great game, and I was just curious what you guys think. If I their is anything I could change, Id fix the god awful controls. And thats really the only thing that I feel is something that MUST change.
