So at some point in the game the mounties overwhelm the front-lines eh. I knew we needed to invest in the northern border as well. It's all cuz it was undefended.

You've gotta be kidding me... This is a million times more ridiculous than the Modern Warfare II plot.

Look, if you americans are so keen on being invaded, please stick to the aliens. That is a thousand times more plausible than the Russia or North Korea scenario.

they explain it in logical steps

I think that the Japanese were also a bit upset over the fact that their homeland gets abosrbed into North Korea without a fight in the game's story. That probably had something to do with them editing the game.
Well, they are completely demilitarized right? How could they not roll over without a fight?

This explains why real life locations always come out as these long, ridiculous explanative sentences in Japanese games. Almost makes me want to pick up the Japanese version so I can pretend it's about the great US-Canada war.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JSDF

They have the JSDF, who would probably put up quite a fight against the North Korean army.

Which would actually be a more interesting game: we've already seen Red Dawn, but we haven't seen Red Dawn IN TOKYO.

Ah, I see. So the North Koreans have allied themselves with the aliens and are using their advanced technology to infiltrate the U.S.?
I guess that would make sense. I see no other way how one of the piss-poorest nations on this planet could otherwise get even a single troop carrier over the pacific without hitting an iceberg on the way.

Thats one thing I hate abot the game, it says about it not being patriotic, but Japan rolled over, the US didnt.
It's even worse considering that, according to one of the first trailers, Japan rolls over BECAUSE the US moves it's pacific fleet back over to the Western Seaboard.

Yeah, apparently Japan has not ONE able-bodied soldier capable of defending the country from "Ye olde country from some, such, certain cardinal direction."

Probably a good idea in a way, CERO guidelines or no.

America may have a lot invested in North Korea not going anymore rogue than it already has, but with that nutcase lobbing 'satellite launch vehicles' at Japan's borders semi-regularly and the general animosity.. it'd feel uncomfortably like someone was trying to stir up trouble were it published as-is.
What's he gonna do? Seriously. His nuclear missiles (if they even still work) could hit at best the north-western most tip of Alaska. And he relies on other countries, mainly China, to make sure his population doesn't completely starve to death. And guess who one of China's biggest customers is? That's right.

Even if they had the means, they wouldn't. Team America: World Police didn't rile him up, and neither will Homefront.

They explain it. Kim Jung Il dies and is replaced by his son, who is (according to Homefront) a lot better. He brings North and South Korea together and into an economic powerhouse, while the US is declining and pulling back due to (amongst over things) rising oil prices.

Then Korea puts out a satellite that they say is for media purposes, but actually detonates an EMP blast over the western half of the US.

it had too do with budget cuts on the American army (seeing that Obama seems to care for the people instead of war mongering it seems like a logical step) Korea isnt that far from the USA making a attack also plausible. Its explained on Wikipedia

As many others have no doubt said elsewhere, I too find it amusing that they have problems name-dropping a real life dictator, but are tots cool with graphically depicting a teenaged girl getting all of her orifices stuffed with gooey tentacles. Oh well.
It has to do with ratings. CERO doesn't rate porn games, visual novels, movies, anime or comics. So, no, they're not cool with graphically depicting a teenaged girl getting all of her orifices stuffed with gooey tentacles.

I didn't know they had a restriction on actual names and places, but we have our own "All persons fictitious" disclaimer, so yeah.

On the other hand, Vanquish had Space Russians. They didn't directly name any currently living Space Russians, but they were clearly from Russia.
