Nor indeed in my post, but don't let that stop you, big guy! You keep on keepin' on, maybe one day you'll make a point.mr_rubino said:New game for all of you. It's called "Who Exactly Accused Kinect of Being Racist?"

Serenegoose said:...and? They don't NOT REFLECT. Black people aren't FRAKKING INVISIBLE. Therefore if it's that simple a problem, you up the sensitivity of the device so it compensates. Good grief. Can you imagine how different this thread would be if the system was calibrated on black people, and so the ENHANCED REFLECTIVE PROPERTIES of white people threw the system off and somehow rendered it effectively unplayable for white people? Do you really think it'd just be 'WHITE SKIN IS MORE REFLECTIVE. FACT. PUT UP WITH IT.' Somehow, I doubt it.The Stonker said:I doubt microsoft can bend the laws of light.Serenegoose said:Well, whilst I doubt it's intentionally racist, it's still a pretty gigantic slip up that should have been identified in testing. Darker colours reflect less light rather then lighter colours.
Fact.
Well, I think they're just being nice by not saying all of the mean things about gamespot that the article might entitle them to.clipse15 said:Wow so nobody is actually reading the link? way to go escapist
Actually, I'm as white as snow. I just don't see why I should be all like HURP DURP NOT MY PROBLEM because that might make me seem like a bit of an asshole! PS, I explicitly said it's not racist. Look up! Right there in the first sentence! my word, has it been there all along? It has! Cuh-razy. however, a technical problem THAT HUGE is a pretty basic blunder well within their capacity to resolve. Obviously the article makes it clear there's some ambiguity as to whether the problem indeed exists, but under the circumstance that it may exist somewhat, I'd say it qualifies as a "major balls up". See, we have this thing we've developing for a few thousand years on and off, you might have heard of it? Goes under the catchall name of 'technology' and we've done some crazy things with it! You know, like making cameras sufficiently sensitive that peoples skin colour is not relevant as to whether videogames work or not.The Stonker said:Serenegoose said:...and? They don't NOT REFLECT. Fact.
You must be black your self since your getting so upset.
Plus I think there would be more fuzz if they would put a special setting for a black person or a special setting for well any race.
Light reflects better on lighter skin=FACT.
It's not racism.
Since racism is direct hate at any race, while this is a technical problem.
I can bet more white idiots were offended by this than black people... You reckon?FargoDog said:I.. Am genuinely lost for words.
What is it with people shouting 'RACIST!!' at every little fucking thing?
I take it that you know using caps effectively makes you sound like an idiot? Evidently not. You do now, anyways..Serenegoose said:Actually, I'm as white as snow. It;s called offensensitity. aka always being offended about everything even if it is not applicable to them.Worgen said:I get the feeling there is a group out there thats sole purpose is to yell racist about everything so that they can get society so sick of it that we will embrace slavery again
And thank you. It's good to know guys like you can't even address a direct question, albeit you take one addressed to the crowd and apply it singularly to you. And that's kinda stupid. But it's a talent.Serenegoose said:mr_rubino said:The Escapist: Where people can use the "IF YOU FLIPPED IT AROUND, NOONE WOULD CAAAAAAAAARE!" even when it makes not even the slightest bit of sense.
Actually, I said that if you flipped it around, people would lose their shit over it. But keep trying!

Gee golly gosh, thanks Mister! I've never used the intersteak before! Could you point me to the lobby so that I can speak to the net secretary? I've got an appointment on my electro-mail account but I cannot find the web room to attend it! But y'see.... pardon my newbish ways, "Sir", But I've been on more real allcaps drop insertions than you've ever simulated. So if I feel like choosing to use allcaps to demarcate RIDICULOUS HYPERBOLE in a more than somewhat ironic manner, you'll have to forgive me for just rolling with it.Daffy F said:I take it that you know using caps effectively makes you sound like an idiot? if you read the article it sates in the title that its a lighting problem.. but the last paragraph statesclipse15 said:Wow so nobody is actually reading the link? way to go escapist
I think the term "racist" was just used to get people to click on the article, the title was given by the author. If the title had read " blah blah blah dark skinned, lightning problem" not as many people would have read the article. Using the term "racist" is just one of thoes pop words that catch your eye and makes you want to read the articleIrony said:Jesus Christ... I knew it. As soon as I saw the title I thought "Some people are getting upset because Kinect doesn't recognize people with darker skin." And look what this is about. Some people getting upset because Kinect doesn't recognize people with darker skin. This is so stupid. Of course darker skin doesn't reflect as much light as lighter skin, THAT'S WHY ITS DARKER.
People's stupidity sometimes. It makes me want to beat them over the head with a dictionary or part of an encyclopedia...
