Maybe you don't understand but "bells and whistles" is a cynical term used to deride an advertised product by being dismissive of the actual benefit of the additions to the product. By stating something has "all the bells and whistles" you are implying it is flashy, and little else.Rainboq said:THAT is a new bell and or whistle.Kermi said:If by "new bells and whistles", you mean thousands of infrared points of light capable of 3D mapping an object as well as colour detection instead of just being a camera... yeah, other than that they're basically the same thing.Rainboq said:Considering that the Natal (I REFUSE to call it "Kinect") is just the Eye-Toy with some new bells and whistles, it would be easy.Sindre1 said:Lets see Move or Wii do that
Maybe you don't understand, but saying something has new bells and whistles, means its an upgrade.
There is a distinct difference between the mapping capabilities of the Kinect's sensors and cameras, and the Eyetoy camera. Your assertion that the Eyetoy camera could "easily" duplicate what the Kinect hacks have accomplished in the last two months is ill-informed. Your subsequent implication that the Kinect sensor is not a substantially more technically advanced than the Eyetoy camera is laughable.
If the Eyetoy camera could replicate effects the Kinect sensor has achieved, I ask you, where are all the interesting Eyetoy hacks?
