Kinect Pricing Not Confirmed After All

If anything, I would think this is in response to Move's pricing and not the internet backlash. $100 sounds like a far better price to me, but I doubt they'd dip by $50.

What would be funny would be if the next announced price spiked...
I'm sorry, but this would just be hilarious.

Wouldnt surprise me if the price gets raised to be honest, and seeing as this is M$, probably charge a subscription fee to play the thing aswell. Not likely, but who knows, M$ are just the type of company to do that
Nice. That won't start any flames or anything. I can't think of anything to put here that isn't ban worthy, so I'll simply say this: you must have a low intelligence to post such obvious flamebait.

Microsoft: "Ohshitohshitohshit! Seems people aren't going to pay 150$ for Kinect! But if we lower the price, they'll think we're pussies. I know! Let's just say we never really set a price and the everyone else lied! Yes, that's it!"

I hope they lower the price, other Microsoft and Sony.

If I buy like two extra controllers with my Move and Eye toy, then I'll be spending the same if not more than a Kinect. ><"

I want to have both, but when the realization hits that I'll be spending almost $300 on both the Move and Kinect, my bank account hurts.

Ok then, how heartlessof them, to give Indie Game Developers a place to get their game sold to millions! How cruel of them to give us Netflix Instant Streaming! How greedy of them to give us almost all of the episodes of Halo: Legends for free!
Yeah, and make more money from the games sold!

And giving out one free game which will obviously never increase sales of any Halo related products

Chances are they're just using a high placeholder price so the real thing will seem to be cheap in comparison.

At least, that's what I hope.

The subscription jab was honestly supposed to be taken as a bit of satire. not flamebait. Guess I could of made it more clear.

Insult wasnt really needed either.

Less of an insult, more of a truth. It's a touchy subject for alot of people. People are easy to piss off. Hence, why I drew attention to your mindset when you posted that. In all honesty, I'm suprised I didn't say alot worse. It wasn't the smartest thing for you to say, was it?

Yeah, it's not like they gave out FREE 360s at E3 or anything. Oh, wait.
Giving out free xboxs to a load of people who are most likely going to be reviewing your products isn't exactly a reason to start saying they've never overpriced or charged needlessly for something or will do again.

Your right about it being a touchy subject and the way I phrased it probably wasnt the smartest way to put it, but as I said, it was purely intended as a bit of dry humour. Guess I must own up and say sorry if its annoyed you.

CALLED IT!
Hah! I totally called it! I said right when the Microsoft price listing came up: I bet this still isn't it.
I said it before, and I'll say it again: I'm waiting for the press release from Microsoft.

And I call BS on the 'they were just testing the waters' idea. They have marketing firms and focus groups for that. They don't need to sneak around with fake price-points. They already know what will, and what will not, sell at what price. They are a successful company for a reason.

I'm willing to bet it'll be $99.99, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Wait... if we display massive annyoance with the pricing of something we can get it changed? Why in the hell are we still paying 60$ for a new game then.

150 dollars would have sold pretty fine.

Think about what they are aiming for. Households without wii's that possibly already have 360s. All of the sudden these people have families, or hey, may just want to try out the wii for some reason. But wait! There's an alternative, and it costs 50 dollars less than a wii, AND it comes with some 20 free games! No controllers needed? Great! I wont have to purchase them!

Also, big shit if Microsoft is 'greedy'. It's a corporation, they are payed to be greedy. Dont like it? Dont buy their hardware.

My fanboy detector is bleeping.

Anyway, I'll be very surprised if Kinect's final price will be less than $149.98 now. Certainly, I can't see them setting it where they could honestly compete with the Wii on the motion controls front ($50, max).
