FUCK YEAH, THE ONE SERIES WITH NO BAD ENTRIES.
Kirby Air Ride

I used to love Kirby when I was a kid, but I got older and the games didn't get any harder. I'm hoping this game puts up a challenge.
Air ride was awesome. The games didn't get harder because Kirby was designed to be for beginners.
Also: No bad Metroid games.
I LOVED Air Ride.

Though I do think that the Zelda series (CD-I outings excepted) hasn't had any bad games either.
Zelda: Four Swords Adventures and Link's Crossbow Training
Metroid: Metroid Prime Hunters. I'm sorry but that game was unplayable. I didn't like Metroid Prime Pinball either but my ex loved it, so yeah.

If you want to stick just to core adventure games, then Kirby, Metroid, Zelda, and Mario all have perfect records.
I really enjoyed Four Swords. The biggest problem was the set-up you needed to play it. However, if you had the 4 GBAs it was a fun game with some good ideas. Crystal Chronicals had te same problem. Crossbow Training can be burned in a firey pit though.
Seriously? We're actually calling Crossbow Training a game? That was just a pack-in to hold you over till you could get your hands on an on-rails Wii FPS.

Also:Kirby! Fuck Yeah!

So I definitely hope they bring back the move mimicking from Kirby 64. I miss the ability to combine ice with electricity to get the fridge power.
They frigg'n better. I remember trying to make a chart to organize all the combinations.

Other M looks even more story-centric. I don't know why I couldn't get into Prime 3, but it certainly wasn't because it had a cast or that it was linear. As a matter of fact, the linearity was something I LIKED in Fusion, because it cut out all the backtracking bullshit that I loathed in, say for example, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow or Shaman King: Master of Spirits (both good games though).
Yeah, I'm looking forward to Other M on different grounds. As for backtracking, I actually like going back to places and discovering things you couldn't reach before.

Hmmmm this is one of the few Nintendo franchises I haven't played so I can't offer an opinion on it but I still want a decent Star Fox Game.
Has any star fox besides the first been even... playable?

If theres ever been a series that really needed to return to its roots... heres a contender.

What about 64? That was good.

OT: Yes! I loved the Kirby games. It's good to see that Nintendo isn't forgetting its other franchises... other than Kid Icarus, Mother, and Starfox. :p

I don't remember there being a golf game of Kirby when he is a ball. However, there is a pinball game for the Game Boy, which Kirby is the ball. That game was awesome.

*UPDATE*
Oops, just double checked. Apparantly there was, Kirby's Dream Course. I never knew that. My favourite Kirby game is Canvas Curse/ Power Paintbrush. A great game.

Isn't this old news?

They said that there was a platformer kirby for the cube too, but that didn't happen.

OHMIGOD OHMIGOD. Kirby is the whole reason I got into Nintendo. This is great news, and while it won't make me buy a Wii, I will be spending more time at my sister's house.

...What? I... How is... this, I don't even...

I'm confused by this acronym sir.

Moving on, as long as it's a GOOD game like say, Amazing Mirror, with the move copying functions from any game BUT Crystal Shards (Because honestly, this is the 'only' one I hated purely because of it's IMHO overly complicated ability system) and I'll be happy. We were 'supposed' to get a 'true' kirby title for the current generation nintendo console back on the cube and all we got was Air Ride... Let's hope they finally finished whatever it was that was being worked on and that it's spirit lives on in this game.

Also, it needs to have multiplayer... As in the classic style. Not BS minigames, 4 kirby's on screen at once all playing at the same time through the 'story mode' levels.

a meaningless effort, no kirby game will ever be better than The Crystal Shards.

EDIT: to the man above me, yes there was a huge amount of complication with the combinations, but they were all still AWESOME.

YAAAAAY! New Kirby game!
It's not my favorite series, but that's okay. Not every game needs to be "super mega awesome". Sometimes "just plain fun" is what we really need, and Kirby reliably delivers that. Here's hoping the next game will be more of the delicious Kirby goodness we know and love (which, of course, also includes whatever little experiment they'll try this time.)

(Also, I'd really like to see the "power combining" mechanic from Kirby64 make a comeback.)

Oh I'm very happy to hear this even though I don't own a Wii. Kirby needs some love. I do think Nintendo should try to come up with another franchise though.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Metroid: Other M don't count as Metroid games on the Wii for you? I'm sorry I think your argument is a little erratic and confusing. Nobody in their right mind buys a console for games that may or may not even be announced for it. Sure I'd like there to be a new Starfox title but I didn't buy a Wii because of that minute possibility!

Also you left out Super Mario Bros. Wii as well as Punch-Out. Super Smash Bros. Brawl probably also figures in there as well. For all the complaints about Nintendo having too many franchise titles suddenly someone's going to complain that there are too few? I just don't get it sometimes.

Well, guess it was about time they took Kirby back out and blew the dust off of him. Oh wait, he can handle that himself.

Oh I completely agree. As annoying and fucking stupid some of the combination's were, some of them were awesome. I 'loved' volcano head kirby, even though it was fucking useless sometimes.

The way I look at it, a good kirby game only has to make sure that an ability system SIMILAR to Amazing Mirror or Super Star. Lots of abilities, each pretty much about suiting the player's preferred style of playing the game.

For me? My favorite abilities have always been 'beam' or 'wand' abilities. In specific though, I loved the Plasma, Yo-Yo and Mirror abilities from Super Star, I used to be able to exploit the hell out of those abilities in that game and just totally 'destroy' bosses. XD
