1. Adorable.
2. She loves anime.
3. She's like a living version of popular culture.

OT: I'unno. I like Lucky Star, but I'd rather have something which defines me as my avatar, rather than nicking somebody else.
Part of the reason why I stopped using this anubite for a bit, because he's all angry and growly all the time.

Just curious as to why it seems so many people have them on here, the blue-haired girl in various funny poses or actions.
because they wish they had girlfriends like her.

I have a few Konata avatars on other sites and I can say that personally, I have no idea. I don't even watch the show or read the mango, her face is just good reaction image material.

I don't know if it's that the avatar itself is prevelant, so much as it is that the people who use it seem to post a lot. That's just my observation, though.

She's a great character. The other characters in Lucky Star are more or less "normal", while Konata is the one who plays loads of games, watches loads of anime, and generally acts as a great comedic character.

I dunno. Just watch a couple episodes or watch a few clips on youtube.
Timotei,timotei.
But I agree with everything you say.
She's actually a well designed charachter for that matter.. Which is pretty rare for anime.
P.s. I'm an anime fanboy.

So thats all those avatars are from. Question, is it just an anime or also a manga?
It started as a manga, and its still running... And in my opinion, is slightly better than the anime... Simply because the anime left out several characters, and went way overboard on the parodies...

I flipped a shit when I saw that guy get put on probation for explaining what an otaku is. The moderator who put him on probation for that should resign, goddamn.

Wait, so she's a basement-dwelling nerd who plays schoolgirl-groping simulators, and goes on picnics with anime blow up dolls and then marries them? Because that is the true definition of otaku.
Wait, what?
No.
An otaku is someone who rather stays inside with themselves than go out and hang with people.
/proud otaku rant
No, an otaku is someone who is absolutely obsessed with something and has pretty much given up everything else in his life to pursue this thing. Things like collecting and reading manga, guns, stamps etc. are all included in it. A bunch of stupid americans did a terrible translation of the word and it's now being used in the wrong way by weeabos.
So basically its been turned into a slang word...
