This is all well and good, and kinda cool as well. But at the "8 minutes and 37 seconds of evidence that awesome anime isn't exclusive to Japan" i had to wander if Afro Samurai Counts. I mean, yes, the original story was done by a japanese man but...wasn't the anime done by a group outside Japan last i checked? If I'm wrong feel free to correct me but..just thought i'd point that out.

For future reference, THIS is Afro Samurai...Now if this doesn't count as awesome to you then, go see a therapist (Also, warning the following contains alot of violence..bla bla yadda yadda, don't watch if squemish etc etc):

I was struck by this odd premise alone. While I liked the short anime well enough, who thought the only country doing decent work was Japan? I've seen alot of good manga and anime coming from Korea and China/Taiwan. Over the last decade (or more) as the competition heated up to bring more material to USA comic buyers, publishers have been bringing over manga and anime from non-Japanese countries to fill the demand - especially the newer, smaller publishers trying to break into the American market.

Reminded me of FLCL in a way.

You know, I think this is the first time anyone managed to sneak in some nudity in a video, and NOT get caught.

It was just some nip slip. Not a huge deal.

Just saying what I was thinking, it all too rare for me to do that.

The fact this was made in China baffles me in so many ways...

How, in COMMUNIST China, did a film basically about capatalism even get made?

How did they make the best quality anime animation outside of a Hayao Miyazaki film in a countries who has such rampant piracy their been cases were actors were offered pirated versions OF THEIR OWN FILMS (happened to the new Bond with the Chinese release of Casino Royal).

How was it uploaded to Youtube when Google (owners of Youtube) isn't allowed in China?
China is Socialist/Capitalist.. Half their idealologies name has Capitalism in it.

Excellent - I like that it was a rather unique art style and premise; an attempt to create something new as opposed to simply "knocking off" Japanese animation styles. I'd really like to see more, China coming into its own animation culture. Don't forget that China is "communist" in name only, its more of a system of ultra-capitalism free-market zero regulation business, provided you don't piss off government.

It was alright, but I personally think they were going overboard with the fanservice.
