Hmph ... milked the consoles dry have we, see if we can squeeze a few drops out the old wrinkly PC dugs eh ?

Thanks, but no thanks.

Getting a multiplatform game months after the main target has had its go just pisses me off, mostly since I waited for GTA4 PC and got that... incomplete mess.
( ok, now it runs reasonably ... on a gtx580, but even no I cant max everything ).

I tend to just disregard games that follow this release on consoles first then pass it to the pirate ridden PC lot, and usually a piss poor port doing as little as technically possible to make it work on a PC.

For my fellow PC players who get this game , I truely hope its a great port and you have lots of fun... I personally just dislike the taste of leftovers a few months old myself.

I'm glad that Rockstar isn't ignoring the PC audience but I would have been happier if they'd been willing to commit to this before the game's release.

I can't fault them for a more cautious approach, better to announce something like this later on than do it early and have to back out. But knowing they were adamant about doing this a few months ago would have carried weight with me.

Admittedly the game itself doesn't interest me and I won't be picking it up, and wouldn't have if the port was announced earlier (or heck, if it came out on PC a month before the other systems). However it does color my opinion of Rockstar in general going forward.

Agree, I'll probably get it but another shitty PC port from Rockstar and I am completely done with them, much as I love the companies games. They cannot make the same mistake twice surely!

Interesting. I might get it. Though that depends on whether the port is any good or not.

I hear that. I heard so much about L.A. Noire... wait, no I haven't. I have no idea what it is, except something about set in previous century and about detectives. NOTHING. ELSE. I've heard a lot about Red Dead Redemption, seen videos, heard about it from people... Noire? Not much. It's like "Oh, it's THAT game, you know, right, don't you, THE game".

I've heard plenty about Noire. Mainly, it's a choose yer own adventure game that always lands you on the last page, anyway. The only good thing, really, is the facial animations. I just have no desire to play a detective game, at all. I spend enough time trying to avoid the police, to want to play as them.

I do not have vibration in my mouse or keyboard! How am I going to find the clues?!

OT: Anyway, as I breathed in another thread: Whoop-di-doo!
There's also a chime that plays when you're near clues. I assume you have speakers.

This is cool. It really is.

The only problem is that I still have enough games coming out within the next year that I'd rather play instead of LA Noire...

..Anything could happen I guess. Maybe I'll find time for it.

I have been wanting to play this for a long time, and now i finally can!

*Giggles like on girl on the inside*

Also, I want to know whether or not some of the DLC will come with the retail copy of the game a la Assassins Creed.

Call me a cynic, but it feels like they put it on consoles because they figured they'd get more sales out of it. Then when it doesn't do so well, they cave in and make it for PC in the hopes of recouping their losses. Plus my experience with PC versions of Rockstar games isn't so great, they tend to be poorly optimized pieces of shit.

Well that's nice, but will they change it to be good?

If they manage to somehow rewrite the entire gameplay to have even a mild level of challenge then I'll grab it, but I'm guessing that won't happen.

Nail. Head. Blunt force trauma.

Take Two have had a rough old year so far... maybe if things continue to get bad for them we can get RDR PC, too.

...

And for the people asking "Why didn't they announce this before I bought the console version?" That's EXACTLY why Rockstar don't announce their PC versions of games usually until after the console version hits the shelves, so you'll buy the console version and the console manufacturers will get all that extra cash they get from games being sold for their systems and will encourage them to throw keep throwing money at Rockstar. That's what capitalists would call The Circle of Life if they weren't scared of Disney's lawyers.

Their sales weren't shit but they were much less than expected.
So they glimpsed over to the PC market, saw The Witcher 2 with no DRM being sold with huge success, and said - what the heck, we can suffer the pirates.
Next time release your damn games on all gaming platforms, damn you for making me wait.

Oh come on, GTAIV wasn't so bad... after about 6 months of patch cycle and community fixes.

And apparently they've learned a few things about PC optimisation since then because EFLC was playable out of the box, so to speak.

Can't wait for some shitty optimization.

Now I wonder if they will being doing anything like adding advanced video options, or if it will just be a straight port.

It seems that my prayers have been answered.

I ranted regarding this a few months ago that I hated Rockstar and Team Bondi that 5 years ago announced LA Noire is going to be released on all platforms then 3 years in they decided to keep it only for consoles.

Now they seem to be doing the right thing and my faith in them is restored.Thank you Rockstar and now I hope they will give us Red Dead Redemption to enjoy as well.
