And we won't be waiting long, either: L.A. Noire for the PC is slated to come out this fall.

I'm fairly new at this gaming lark; how long does it take to make a game port, and why didn't they just ruddy release both versions together?

I believe that exclusives are one of the worse thing gaming has, its cool to see news like this so everyone can enjoy games.

"Its unique blend of story, action and crime solving will be perfect to play on PC."

Then why didn't you do this right from the start? You didn't get as much money from consoles as you hoped you would so now you want to milk the shabby old PC market?

Oh but why am I complaining I won't be buying it either way. Better months late then never.

Arghhh!!!! I already bought it for xbox!! It's my understanding the devs get the same money for PC and console versions of the game (console versions are more expensive to account for money going to Sony and Microsoft I think?).
I think PC takes longer to test, because of the diversity of hardware.

OT: I'm rather ecstatic about this.

Cool, I'm keen. Been watching my flatmate play it on his PS3. I was always interested in the game I'm not comfortable playing on consoles. I prefer sitting at a desk than on a couch, personal preference.

It does seem like they didn't get their expected sales on consoles so they're scraping what they can from the PC market. As a customer I don't like being treated like "the dregs" but what the Hell right,I'll take what I can get. Maybe through this Rockstar can learn that the PC market isn't just a black whole of piracy and they can start actually treating us like a preferable market instead of just throwing us the scraps. Yeah right.

Bout bloody time, this is one of the few games released recently that I have any interest in. I'll just have to wait for it to be released, and then wait for a reasonable price.

I will wait for the reviews to determine the quality of the port, but I think the GTAIV port is quite good post patches (One of the worst ports of all time before they fixed it). I'm sure R* have learnt their lesson from that experience. I'm still hoping for RDR on PC but that hope is starting to wane.

Anyway, I love adventure games, I love Noir films, I love detective stories, despite it's reported flaws I'm interested in this game. (For the record I liked Mafia 2 but thought it was a little short.)

I hope they port it better than the other ports they have done.
Rockstars pc ports never seam to work as well as they should when I get hold of them...well GTA4 did not and the other gta games were pretty glitch if I do recall.
But what the hell yay this could be fun :p.

Yay, though ill buy it for xbox some day anyway, I suport it being on as many platforms as posible as I support my PC bretheren (I must have misspelled that) and I'm against platform exclusivity.

I would not believe it that such a game could be console exclusive.

Now I dont have to.

So they decide to port the title that fits better with consoles onto PC, while completely ignoring the clamour for Red Dead Redemption to get ported to PC.
I think I'm done wasting my money on Take Two and Rockstar's crap. They seem to get more joy out of pissing people off than actually serving the customer. Well, they just got their wish. I'm pissed.

Call me a cynic, but it feels like they put it on consoles because they figured they'd get more sales out of it. Then when it doesn't do so well, they cave in and make it for PC in the hopes of recouping their losses. Plus my experience with PC versions of Rockstar games isn't so great, they tend to be poorly optimized pieces of shit.
That's because they were made for the console first. PC ports of console games are always gimped in some way(and yet console ports of PC games seem to work much better. Figure that). This is one reason I don't like Take Two or Rockstar because they are always console first, and it puts a bad stain on the PC play.

*sigh* If I had known about this before I'd have waited for the PC version, rather than buy the PS3 one like I did...
Never gonna buy a game on day one again -_-...
