I feel a little let down - for 560 points I expected more than an extremely brief bare bones campaign - there was nothing particularly great about this DLC - no consistent theme (such as Dead Air with the Airport) no big set pieces (the finale of No Mercy) and even no interesting locations.

It just felt really bland, boring and rushed. I'm fine with the whole 2 chapter versus aspect, but just because your designing for versus does not excuse the lackluster level design and dull atmosphere...

Another poor Left 4 Dead DLC from Valve...
Finally I've found someone that agrees with me.

:) Got it for free.

Did enjoy my first run though, the servers are pretty fecking packed right now though, took awhile to find a server that was dedicated instead of local.

Defiantly worth it! :D

(I'll have to see if it beats the Death Aboard campaign yet though, I'm not sure yet because the boat on that and the Hot Air Balloon finale is awesome.)

hahahahaha i only had to pay 560:)

hahahahah you paid. ^^

Anyway! It's not exactly a review review, more like theres this stuff and that. Then again there isn't much to talk about a campaign with 2 maps. So. It's okay considering what you had to work with.

But it could have been better.

I just watched a video of it and I dont find it worth the time to reinstall the game.I'm sure I'd like it but I've played custom maps with the same quality as this one, with either wide open spaces or warehouses.

I'd love to hear those new dialogues though!

there was a fault on microsofts part where when it was put up on xbl marketplace, i was put up as 800. They then however relised this and changed it. Even though it said it cost me 800 I was only charged 560, however a friend of mine who bought it off xbox.com was charged the full 800 but later got a refund when he got hold of them

Wow. I just got the Steam joke after reading this. Yeah, I liked it too but that's probably because I got it for free on my PC.

That wasn't really a review... And nice job spoiling the DLC for everyone :p
What was there to spoil?
EVERYTHING, we may know what happens but for those yet to play we still needs to know HOW it happens. You just spoilered it!

Use spoiler tabs in future!

Second. I just cant see paying for something that a good deal of people get for free. All the 360users got ripped off. (Not a flame. I actually prefer 360 as far as consoles go.)

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I play on Steam, so it was free for me (heh). But yeah, it's a good map, fun as hell on Versus mode too.

Let this be a lesson for you, kiddies, PC Left 4 Dead > X-Box 360 Left 4 Dead.

Reasons:
-Sprays
-Johnny Bravo Tank Sound Pack
-Free DLC
-Kickass Fan-Made Maps (Heaven Can Wait, Dam It!, Coal'd Blood, Death Aboard)

Actually, I thought this was the easiest map so far...

On my first time through, I found 10 weapon upgrades, 17 pistols, 29 pills, 6 stacks of ammo, and about 30 molotovs and pipe bombs.

I agree with you. I was playing this and I thought to myself, "Good Lord this is hard." and that's coming from someone who's easily beaten all the other campaigns on Expert more than once and got Akimbo Assassin on Expert. In all honesty, I probably wouldn't have paid for it so I'm thankful that Valve made it free for us PC elitists. I think this one is up there with the Gears 2 All Fronts DLC.

Then you got extremely lucky, my friend. I found one set of weapons and at most five pills.

I like how the finally actually set the mini gun up in a place with a decent field of fire. However the shortness of the campaign seemed rather insulting considering this is valve's good will offering to show it had not abandoned L4D in favor of L4D2. I listened to the developer commentary and it seems this campaign was originally conceived from the start to link the No Mercy and Death Toll together, however it was cut because it made the victory won at the end of No Mercy seem empty. I get the feeling Valve just picked something off the cutting room floor, dusted it off, and released it to placate the fans. Still it is free for the PC nerds like me and I can't fault the price.

Also it doesn't sit well with me that we were stealing some one else's escape vehicle. Who ever built that battle wagon spent a lot of time on it. Despite the fact they are probably dead when the players reach it, I feel guilty for running off with their dreams of escape. In all the other campaigns there is a sense of reconnecting with humanity. That voice on the radio that tells you everything will be fine if you can just stay alive long enough for us to reach you. This campaign was missing it and I feel it is poorer for it.

Better him than me.

I'll play nice while civilization still stands, but the zombie apocalypse is a dog eat dog world.
