Why does every topic that has girls in the title become like 10 pages long ?
"Girls are an interesting topic to discuss."

Although you do raise a fair point, every thread that related to girls got to 5+ pages in no time at all. My stance,if you read my post correctly, is neutral.

It is weird for me, i am a Male, and i have a Girlfriend, so i don't hit on girls, but i have heard from, and been hit on by both GUYS and GIRLS... Apparently, they love my voice.... at least that's what the guys say.. :l
"B...b...but your avatar! It's an anime girl!"

I imagine this is how many people think despite the blatancy of the fact that said person is probably attracted to said avatar and bingo:there is your reason for avatar of choice.

Pfft, you ladies should be grateful that guys give you the time of day when they can't even see if you're pretty or not. You lot should take such advances as compliments, not get offended over flirtation attempts.
Somehow I've got the impression that it gets old fast.

I just don't get why my sex does this.
Yeah guys get jealous of me too.

Seriously though, I've never witnessed it happen, maybe it's just Americans that do it.

I admit, I flirt with girls playing games online.
I also flirt with girls in person.

As a matter of fact, my "Just being nice", default form of social interaction is, I am told, actually flirting.
So, in that respect, it seems that I flirt with everyone.

This infuriates the girlfriend, and I'm trying to cut back. Seriously trying to cut back. Problem is, I'm not even aware I was flirting half the time!
"! Stop flirting with the waitress!" she says...
"Oh, shit. I did it again?" I says...

+1

Except the girlfriend part...

Only real time was when i actually had a internet relationship and when i made a comment during a Horror Game Lp that I was so scared I hurt my boob grabbing something to hold. (>> Got a lot of weird comments because of that little mistake and it's my most thumbed up comment ever)

and this time I mentioned I liked thick eyebrowed men with hairy legs that were geeky.

Otherwise the only time I have been hit on is when I'm playing one of my guy characters. It's actually kind of sad that my fictional male characters get more action in the being hit on department than i do. >>
...Eh? I have a semi-thick (Not noticeable)unibrow, have really hairy legs, and am extremely geeky. But if you don't mind me asking...what's attractive about that? I mean, damn, I'm ugly...and I'll even admit that I'm ugly. (Pretty much specifically because of those things. Also my chin. But my rockin' beard hides that from the masses. Well, geeky isn't exactly a physical attribute, I guess. Still...)

Who hits on your male characters, though? Other men? Women? The distinction is important.

Edit: I re-read what I'd posted, aaaand...I'd just like to clarify: I'm not asking like 'HOW COULD YOU LIKE SOMETHING LIKE THAT? IT'S SO UGLY LIKE OH EM GEE!'. I'm genuinely curious. Most people don't find those attributes to be attractive. At least, as far as I know. I might be wrong.

I find transgirls really pretty but they are so damn rare, so I tend to flirt with her as soon as we meet, lol. Good thing they are usually super nice ^^
What's a transgirl? /Stupid

I like quirky people. and Big Eyebrows, strange noses are kind of a turn on for me. I like handsome dudes too, but I like really interesting people and as for leg hair, I have no problem with any kind of body hair as long as it's not back hair *shiver*

As for the male characters, they are always girls. Really idiotic girls who never figure out that it's just some writer roleplaying to practice and figure out how they would interact socially.

XD I find it funny that someone of them even talk to some of those characters since they are kind of assholes.

One time I had my avatar pic of Ellen Page.

The amount of guys hitting on me was ridiculous.
That reminds me of running through Dalaran or standing in Orgrimmar on my female blood elf mage.... ahhh, good times xD

Tits or gtfo has been my xbox like personal message for some years now. Haven't been ban hammered yet. But it's not like that cause I'll hit on anything female on line, it's like that cause it's a funny meme. Which leads to the question if the harassment of female gamers is legitimate attempt at intimacy, of if it's just for the lulz.

Actually, lot of women don't think it's all that funny. So, while you think you're being funny, there are probably several people out there who think otherwise.
Man, when I started playing internets there were only 2 genders playing games, guys and Xdressers. So humor that wasn't amusing to girls wasn't a problem. Maybe my point of view is a bit antique now. What humor do women like again? Any tips?

You're kidding right? Or half-asleep right? Or trolling right? Right?

Yes yes I'm a male but whatever I feel like answering.

*ahem*

Ingame I don't think I've ever hit on a girl. Ingame they're just players like I am and I treat them as such. On forums and stuff, well, I must admit that sometimes I think "Heej she looks cool" and I (try to) strike up a conversation.

Doesn't really count as 'hitting on' I reckon as I really just like to know more about her, it's not like I'm making advances or anything. Only once did it almost lead to something, but life got in the way.

I've found myself quite addicted to TF2 as of late, and subsiquently I've often found myself as the only female on whatever server I reside. This results in a lot of teasing and trolling, both of which I expect going in.

What I wasn't quite prepared for was how many guys seriously seek relationships through such meetings. I mean really, I've played MMORPGs before and never have I come across so many desperate guys in my life. One guy said if ever I find myself in southern Pennsylvania I should look him up, just before signing off. And so many others have ended up moaning and groaning when I mention the TF2 hat my boyfriend gave me for my birthday (and the physical version he bought and packaged like a gift in the game).
Well, sadly the ratio of nerdy boys and nerdy girls is woefully imbalanced. That makes certain individuals desperate. It's pretty hard meeting them in real life (at least it is here) so they take chances where they can get them, which is often in games. I have yet to reach that point.

Honestly, if you seriously try to "flirt" with a girl in 3rd person shooters then you are wasting your time, more often than not. Seems to me that it is mostly just throwing sexually degrading comments at the women, waiting for a response and then laugh it up with your bros like the simple monkeys that you are. It's far more reasonable to flirt when playing a MMORPG for example. More instances to talk to each other and more opportunities to actually flirt.

I think there is actually nothing wrong with flirting while playing video games. It just belongs in the more social aspects of gaming and, as long as you don't overdo it, its fine. I know how it is to pause and be enthralled by the siren voice that also seems to like shooting terrorists in the head or slay the evil dragon. But it has to stay within reasonable boundaries.
Protip: Going easy on a girl in a video game just because she is a girl will not help you to get into her pants.

I used to really want to play online games. Then I thought of all the horror stories I heard about having an obviously female username from my friends and decided I wasn't interested.

The newest number I've heard is that something like 40% of gamers are female. Yet as far as I know there are few safe spaces for them. None of my fellow gamers participate in forums because what a hive of sexism and male privilege they are (here included, sorry to say). I've been heavily warned off playing online FPSes because of how unbearable one of my friends found it.

If anyone hit on me while I played a game, I'd fucking ragequit. I am not there to flirt, I am not there to be your little insipid male fantasy, I am not there for the HURHUR GIRLS DON'T GAME jokes. Oh, look how clever you are, making light of the fact that despite being a sizable part of the audience, women are almost universally ignored and feel marginalized and objectified in gamer culture.

Newsflash: games are a form of escapism. I get enough marginalization in my day to day. Why you I subject myself to more in my favorite hobby?

I'll stick to single player, thanks.
Solution? Don't talk to people you don't know online. Just keep your headset off and enjoy the game. It's what I do to stop people complaining at me when I play Gears of War 2 online.

Well, I'm a dude and chicks hit on me surprisingly frequently in text games. Maybe they're really dudes, I don't know and frankly I couldn't care less. For that reason I've had a lot of cyber sex, which is really awesome.

So yeah, being hit on equals win in my book, but I can see why some people would get skeeved out by the act.
