Seriously I'm also getting really paranoid now since I have no idea what is up with the latest utorrent version, and I have it...

I'm kind of paranoid about the new U Torrent version. I know i'm probably looking into it too much but since hearing about this ACTA thing or whatever it's called, can someone just clarify for me? Cheer ;)

And merry Christmas folks.
Ok, so what is it specifically that's making people nervous about the latest utorrent version?
ACTA is making everyone freak out. Big Brother is trying to watch our Internet.
Also, welcome to The Escapist!

Firstly, thank you, secondly, how is ACTA related to the latest utorrent? Or is this just people freaking out over them?

I would be too. But I am in Canada so have no concerns at all.
It's a worldwide thing. Canada is included.
But Canada is separate from the world. It's...IN SPACE!
Say hi to Wilhelm for me if you meet him.

And watch out for the Zombies and super Mario!
I'm not in Canada. I'm safe.
Dammit.

Excuse me while I take my witty retort to someone who is from Canada.
I'm in Canada. Wittily retort to your heart's content!
Let me just copy/paste what I just wrote...and...voilá!

Say hi to Wilhelm for me if you meet him.

And watch out for the Zombies and super Mario!

Also, is the Milky Way really made of milk?
Well, it's made out of Milky Way candy bars. Who would have thought our galaxy would be named after chocolate?
And thank you for reminding me! February 30th, Canadian New Year, is our annual Bash A Zombie Day! Can't wait!

This is just people being paranoid. Think of when you were 6 and you believed every light in the sky was an alien spacecraft, and then apply that to everybody on the internet.

yeah, these things take years to forge let alone enforce. Just dont be stupid and watch what you download.

I would be more scared about downloding if I was in the US, just because the ISPs have already been sold on pirating pirates.

From the wiki article, under "legal scope": "It also allows criminal investigations and invasive searches to be performed against individuals for whom there is no probable cause, and in that regard weakens the presumption of innocence and allows what would in the past have been considered unlawful searches."

That seems... not very right.
