What's You least favorite thing about most anime series?

Mine would be how few episodes some of the good ones have compared to some of the less interesting long running one's.

Whenever a series has Filler. Horrible, horrible things come from that, though sometimes it seems that a series can make decent filler, I'd rather they just get on with the story.

The detractors.

Seriously, what exactly can I generalize about a medium that includes Blade of the Immortal and Strawberry Marshmallow?

I dislike to little 'lesson' episode in the middle of the massive story I've been watching. Sure it's the formula that made Pokémon popular, but if I wanted that I'd watch Pokémon. Dammit Full Metal Alchemist!

Filler and the OCD Japanesse mindset that forces them to explain everything that they've just done. I've just hit you with my super attack, now I'm going to explain how I did it, how I got it, and the writer's reasons for having me only reveal this attack now. Weak.

The endings. So many animes are strong in the beginning and the middle, but the end just becomes rushed, or poorly thought out, or any number of other reasons that contribute to the failure to the end of an otherwise awesome story.

It would be easier to list the things that I actually like about an anime series.
I agree that a story should be good, but I enjoy humor thrown in periodically.
My biggest peeve is when a funny series takes a serious turn halfway through. [i.e. Desert Punk]

I dont mind filler THAT much and fans can suck as much as they want as long its far away from me but I really dont like often used chibi and overdone fights.

This and then some.

The worst ones are the people that hear "anime" and think "Japanese porn"

I also can't stand anyone who supports the animation age ghetto. If you think anime is for kids, I suggest you watch Rahxephon, Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy, Ghost In The Shell:SAC, Texhnolyze, Blood +, and Darker Than Black. If you still think it's for kids, then kindly remove yourself from the gene pool.

I agree with the Japanese tendency to want to explain plot points and events down to the letter. Another thing that's slightly less annoying is the overt sexual gags. They're in so many series' that it almost feels shoe-horned at times. Like they have a sex-joke requirement standard or something.

The obsession of having retarded romantic plotlines. Watching some guy spend 50 episodes failing miserably at getting the girl because he's a moron that couldn't pick up a $2 hooker with a wad of 100's is far more annoying than filler.

Fans, and perhaps (although this may be because of my lack of experience with anime) but its generic plot. allow me to explain what i mean

1. a group of teens school life (Lucky Star, Hurihi)
2. The Typical "zelda plot" (G-Gundam [final series])
3. Youth wants to be the master of something so goes on a journey to become the master (naruto, pokemon)

The anime face. You know what I'm talking about, the way many anime serises have no idea how to draw emotions like anger, exasperation, or sadness, so they just do a cartoony and exagerated expression. The time this pissed me off the most is when Hellsing Ultimate took Seras Victtoria and gave her these expressions, which took one of the most interesting characters in the series and turned her into something of a comic relief.

I don't like when the hero is the least interesting character(Most Harem comedies, but I guess it's trying to appeal to the everyman here.) If the hero is one of those loud, positive idiots, it annoys me(Naruto, One Piece, Pokemon.) When the fans insist that subs are always better, even if the characters were meant to speak English anyway and the show is funnier in English too(Black Lagoon.) The fans are crap. You watch some anime with your friend, and they have a line of people in cat ears that spout off random phrases in Japanese or want to show you their crappy drawings -more like tracing, how do they manage to screw up tracing?- following them. The 10 year old carrying around a fake id that says 18 so the creator can put their sick fantasies on paper. You're not fooling anyone, you pedophile.

If there wasn't some genuinely awesome anime out there to make up for the mountains of crap, I would kick the habit in a heartbeat.
