Any fighting game really. KOF, streetfighter, mortal kombat etc etc. All the endings stink. Ive not played SF4 yet but im not holding my breath.

Also the darkness. Really enjoyed it but what was with all that crap on the bench? Guess its tied into the comic I never read.

Fallout 3.
It devalued all the side-quests I took on before, and made them pretty insignificant to the whole story. Sure, in the short run, I saved Big Town and taught them how to use guns, I defused the bomb in Megaton, I liberated Harkness and killed off Zimmer and his bodyguard for him, I released Harold from his torment (NOO HAROLD HOW DID BETHESDA SCREW UP YOUR CHARACTER D:), I stopped the two crazy people from making a mess in Canterbury Commons, I helped write the Wasteland Survival Guide perfectly, I yaddayaddagoodkarmayaddaetcetc. But when all I saw was just that I gave clean water in the Wasteland, and didn't tell me what happened in the future, it took away the whole point of doing the sidequests. I honestly thought that it would be there in the ending, telling me how awesome I am, much like the previous games.

Also, the whole Jesus Reincarnation annoyed me to no end.

Although I don't expect much of a story from Street Fight IV, it's mostly cliffhanger ending leaves me wanting for more.

Nobody has mentioned Halo 2 yet? That's a surprise. I guess it's because now that 3 is out, it's not as big a deal...

(SPOILER ALERT) Half-Life 1 and 2, I mean their great games, in my top 10 to be honest but in the end (SPOILER ALERT)

Once you beat the final boss in HL1 you get teleported into a tram and Gman tells you to get off it or he'll OWN YO ASS, you get off and THE END
and in HL2 you get esploded off the top of a giant tower. then time pauses and the same prick starts giving you a lecture. THE FUCKIN END
Um, have you played the episodes yet? The story continues from that point

Sorry to be unoriginal but Fallout 3. What a fucking slap in the face after 60 hours of growing into your character...

Not entirely sure why people hate cliffhanger endings. Fair enough if its for the first game in a series and the developers dont know if they are going to make a sequel or not then the hatred is justified, but it was pretty obvious that halo was going to be a trilogy. Halo 2 ending with something along the lines of u just decimating the covernant would seem like a let down as they wouldnt appear as any type of threat. The way they left it is even tho they are somewhat crippled they are still very much a threat as they are right on earths doorstep. Just my oppinion of it anyway.

F.E.A.R 2, you don't end up much farther in the story than where the first one left off...I mean really a 2nd game is supposed to continue the story line and not rehash it from a different point of view.
Ditto.

Assassin's Creed. Finish the final boss, get a cutscene with about as much closure as a fucking Star Wars trailer and end credits.
Leaving something open to a sequel is one thing, leaving it more open than HMV's doors during the January sales is just bloody infuriating.
I do beleive this /thread

Digital Devil Saga ends in the middle of a cutscene. "See you in the sequel, only £29.99!"
to be fair, the story hadnt finised technically since 1 and 2 are meant to be the same game originally but it got too big so they had to split it.

but anyway

Fallout 3, that ending pissed me off ¬_¬

Mine is a tie between these two for the same reasons.

Braid, because you had to read in that game, and if you have high resolution, then it's basically eyestrain

Lets see...

Knights of the Old Republic 2, I really liked Kreia, and the game, but it was too rushed.

Fable, Yawn, it just didn't excite me for some reason.

Bloodrayne 2, STOP SETTING UP FOR SEQUELS YOU DON'T INTEND TO MAKE.

Assassin's Creed initially made this list but in the end I decided it was the story as a whole, all the appeal of a 1980's Sci Fi movie

For me it's definitely 'Viking: Battle for Asgard'. The whole game right up to the end is fun and mindless slaying with a good chunk of stealth, nice visuals and it contains fawking vikings (which is always a plus)!
... And then we get a piss-poor final boss fight and an ending that literally made me scream and swear for several minutes. I won't give it away, but it's sort of like the ending of the new Prince of Persia, only without a sense of accomplishment since the main character is one of those infamous mutes, which makes relating to him hard if not impossible.
Again, nice game, but the ending was EPIC PHAIL!!!!!! Grrrr...
