Alone in the dark, the new one. Has anyone ever seen that, it's so Disappointing. you either lose the girl and walk out like some emo, or lose the girl and yourself at the same time. And there was no epic boss battle to add salt to the wounds as well. Though the fire effects were nice.

"Search" is the most disappointing ending because no one uses it...

alright as it's 'another' topic on this, I can say "Space Siege" was fun for what it was but the ending was quite lame.

Also (of course) "The Lion King" for SNES had a very lame ending but what did you really expect?.. oh wait I know! a golden goblet! because that game was very unforgiving second stage from the end...

Assassin's Creed. Finish the final boss, get a cutscene with about as much closure as a fucking Star Wars trailer and end credits.
Leaving something open to a sequel is one thing, leaving it more open than HMV's doors during the January sales is just bloody infuriating.
Aaah indeed! That ending is horrible! I was still waiting for a decent ending and then the end credits started.. Wth?!

Bioshock. That final boss was a joke.

Halo 2. I wanted to break my controller when it ended with Master Chief's line.

Fallout 3. No ending scene, just pictures. Also, you can't continue, you have to start a new game. I spent all that time and energy just to throw my guy away. Not even close to how good the first one ended.

If any of you ever played dreamfall the longest journey you would truly know what a bad game ending is. I was so mad at the end of that game i swore off of adventure games for a year.

Assassin's Creed
Bioshock
Halo 2
Halo 3
FEAR 2
KOTOR 2
Fallout 3 (super disappointing)
Fable 2
Too Human (only including it because I just finished it after renting. The whole game was fucking terrible, let alone the ending.)

Lots of sequels.... hmm.

I had a lot.

Skate It- The ending was just
a bunch of pictures taken of you "getting air". Christ.

World of Goo- You
blow up the world by undeleting spam. Game over. At least the credits were nice and short.

Lol World of Goo was an amazing game, and its not the ending, so when he does that s/he doesnt blow up the world, he just blows up World of Goo corp.

The 'THE END' games suck the worst. You know what I mean, its story story story THE END.

As it stands.

Crysis.
Alone in the dark (I get a choice, both of them SUCK)
The Kane Expansion for C&C3 (Whoo, lets zooom out baby!)

There are a ton more games that just shit on good story telling by just dropping the user out of the story like he's just jumped off a sheer cliff. agh. Die.

jesus was I the only person that played Dreamfall:The longest Journey because that game had the absolute worst ending of all time. All i am seeing in this form is crappy council games. The ending of The longest Journey was so bad i swore off adventure games for a year. The saddest part about the whole experence was the game was actually good untill the end. (which had me pulling out hairs)

Sorry to be unoriginal but Fallout 3. What a fucking slap in the face after 60 hours of growing into your character...
Seriously? It took you 60 hours to beat this game? I don't think I played for 60 hours total between my good karma character and my bad karma character...

But seriously yeah the ending was pretty fucking sorry. "Here's a glorified PowerPoint of you walking into the sunset, the city at sunset, random panoramic views of the country side at sunset..." blech. I also hated how whether you were good or bad effected such minor stuff through the whole story. There should have been two drastically different story lines with drastically different endings, not this namby pamby slideshow at the end with different narration.

Final Fantasy VII. Made absolutely no sense, I can't even describe it.
You prefer the ending to FFVIII? The bullshit paradoxical infinite time loop ending is ridiculous.

Dev A: "Hey guys our story is really deep and imaginative and people are really attached to these characters... how do we end it?"
Dev I: (has been asleep through the entire process, realizes it just now, and wakes up from an alcohol induced fevered dream, screaming and ranting) "OH GOD INFINITE TIME LOOP!"
Dev A: "Nice... Run with it."

Perhaps someone should make a thread about what games had excellent endings... I don't think it will hold quite as many titles as this thread!
