H.Kojima: "I want people to look at the game itself [...]"

dr.void: "How, when I haven't got that hardware?"

Dance the Revolution: "Then get the hardware."
dr.void: "No thanks, I've already got a Next Gen console."

Top one, nice one, get sausage, Ivoryagent.

What I wanted to express is, that Mr. Kojima can't expect people to buy a PS3 just to praise his game. I'd love to play it, even if it's a reduced version, but can't afford a second console.
His comment was unintentionally sarcastic in that respect.

Then why can MS and/or Nintendo expect people to praise their next Halo/Mario/Zelda? MGS4 was "optimized" for PS3 as Halo 3 was "optimized" for the 360 and the mario and zelda games "optimized" for the Wii. The only reason why people are complaing for MGS4 to be on the 360 and not Ratchet and Clank or a Mario game is because Sony does not have exclusivity rights to MGS4, which in a way does rationalize people's hopes for a 360 port.

I won't be (too) surprised if MGS4 does actually come to 360 or even PC, Konami can do whatever they want with it. though I have heard that an employee who left Kojima Productions confirmed the makings of an MGS5, so start rumours of that.

I see that MGS4 has been developed for that specific hardware and a port is definitely not an easy task considering the completely different system architectures. I didn't know Sony had no rights on the title. It's still unlikely that a port to another system will happen for the complexity of the task. I'm happy for the crowd that can play it, still. ;-)

despite the fact that no self respecting Tekken fan would play it on such.
Who cares what platform it's on? A good game is a good game. I'd play Tekken on the 360 as much as i'd play (insert 360 exclusive here) on a PS3, if possible.
Controls, man, controls. The 360 controls suck at fighting games - most people stated that when reviewing Soul Calibur IV.
Then again, the PS3 pad is only marginally better. For these sorts of games you really need an arcade stick (and you can get quality ones for a both platforms for an affordable price). Unless you don't actually need to pull off those EWGFs consistently.

I still think that eventually, he's gonna get so sick of people saying that the 360 deserves (yes, they use that word, and somehow can't grasp the irony) MGS IV, that he will start threatening to make Metal Gear Raiden.
Am I the only fucking person that thought Raiden was the fucking shit? Apart from his domestic troubles, why does everyone hate him? What's not to like? He can handle a sword like a badass, he can shoot shit, He's gorgeous. Seriously, how can you hate him?
People don't like change.
They didn't mind Naked Snake.
that's cuz he was exactly identical to Solid Snake.

i don't blame Kojima for saying that, he's said "no 360 version of mgs4" for a LONG time and keeps getting asked it

the thing most ppl don't realize about a 360 port is this

1 m$ demands no manditory hdd installs, which means you can't have compressed install files, which not only increases the size of the game but also load times
2 the game, compressed or not is freaking huge
3 compression can help but that would be for audio, graphical compression isn't always ideal or very good
4 if you do compress files, it can increase load time and memory usage and slow down the game
5 each disc for the 360 takes up a min of 2 gigs for stuff m$ forces companies to put on

Putting MGS4 on multiple disk would make the game expensive and no one would buy an inferior version that cost to much.
