And I have internet problems on release day... Seems like the download speed wont go past 60kb/s today so I'll have to wait some time for it.
Is anyone actually buying that game? Honestly the reason I'm buying it is because I don't have the first game so if it's just the same I don't care much because it's still a brand new game to me. Can't wait to play though!

I wish I just had internet problems. I'll trade you. I preordered this over a month ago along with Painkiller Resurrection. Painkiller never worked, and for the past two weeks, my computer hasn't been able to run any type of game. They all locked up within 30 seconds or blue screen. So, after buying STALKER Clear Sky, L4D2, Mass Effect, Lost Planet, and not being able to play any of them, I'm a little annoyed. Not to mention the $100 I dropped trying to fix my computer that ended up doing nothing.

I'm getting it at the price drop when it's at $24 (USD). I didn't really enjoy playing the first on Xbox Live.
Also, there are too many other games that I want more than Left 4 Dead 2.

I kinda found the first game boring, to be honest.
Most of the fun probably comes from online multiplayer, but I'm not really interested in playing with a bunch of strangers.

So, no, I will not be buying Left 4 Dead 2.

There are two routes for me to take

1. have the crappy censored version but able to play on decent australian servers and ride it out hoping that Valve release a gore patch

2. Crack the game for gore but are unable to use any steam servers.

Someone better find a better crack then i have so you can play on servers

I loved the first one, played the demo for the second. It played great and I love the new features, but ultimately it comes down to this:

Same Graphics
New Weapons
New Levels
New Characters

Sounds like an expansion, not worth a $50 investment when I am still tackling Dragon Age and AC2 comes out today too. Not worth the $$$.

Also new gameplay elements, new gametypes and new enemys. Sounds like most other sequals to me, and nothing wrong with the Source engine.

Expansions tend to have a hell of a lot less than this. You're basically saying because they haven't upgraded the graphics it should be an expansion.

I just played it coop with three Aussies who had all ordered non censored copies.

It was fun...worth every cent, gore every where. A zombie chick was running around without an ass after my friend shot it and she didnt die! she just had a big hole where her ass should have been.

You will like it...I was surprised by how annoying the jockey and the Spitter would be!

Its harder than L4D1 ...bloody hell! But its damn good. I love the guns galore concept xD

It's jsut constantly scanning for updates and won't let me play the damn game...

You manually log out then re-log in again. As opposed to just auto-loading.

You get 1 less campaign, 14 less weapons, 3 less SI, 5 less UCI, 2 less game modes and easier crescendo events.

Sounds like a smart idea to me.

No, don't do that - the second is vastly superior. Despite people saying that it's the same - it's not. The graphics, AI, game modes have all been improved dramatically. There's also a possibility of playing the original maps & characters with the new version as well...

It seems people's first rule of any high profile game release these days is to whinge as much as possible.

I'm looking forward to reigniting my love of the game tonight when I get home
