Hey cosmic this looks really great, it's an RP very close to my studies. Not to me too critical but I could not participate in this RP unless I knew that the other participants could reciprocate any actions, references or discussion.
In other words - I'd love to do this - but I feel I'd take way too much issue with other people not knowing enough and myself not being happy at the realism of the situations/conversations.
I would really like some more premise to this, Since world war III breaking out during the bombing of officials at an international forum is very silly, to be mild.
The only outcome I can think of in the aftermath of an attack like that would be a strengthening of resolve for co-operation and the strengthening of the Liberal-economic agenda.

This RP is a great idea, and if the right people opt into this I'd definitely like to join. This RP has the potential to be a very interesting story as long as the participants treat it in a mature adult manner.

I'm really glad you posted, and I'd be happy to place a reserve for you.
However, we have to remember people like you and I are not in the majority of the RP section of the Escapist, and we will need to make some concessions to appeal to the layman. I hope on creating and maintaining a codex which will provide information on concepts and related (and important) events, but again, we will need to make the RP accessible.

I'm going to be doing my utmost to make this tightly woven with modern world history, economics, and international relationships, and the plot I have planned out is a multi-layered and character-driven one, along with one with a phenomenal amount of choice in it.Sneaklemming said:

The premise isn't the outbreak of WWIII, it's the characters being thrust into the role of peacekeepers and defenders of global infrastructure after the catastrophic and confusing events of the bombing.
As I said, this scenario is purely hypothetical. Although it may not be the outcome in a real attack of this sort, I'm creating a scenario where suspicion and discontent races throughout planet.
And they will... Or else.

Oh, if it's not giving away too much, can I ask who will be the major nations in the story? I was planning on doing a bit of background research (if that'll help.)
research the forum itself - and the UN. That seems to be the focus. I doubt national policy will be a big deal, this isn't MUN afterall.
There won't be any nations that play a particularly big role in the story, but the major players on the Global Stage will probably be the EU [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union], NATO [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO], and BRIC [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRIC].dethklok114 said:
