Wait! The new season starts THIS Friday?! How is this the first I'm hearing of this? Come on Nick. This should have been plastered all over your TV stations, and yet I've seen nothing!
Episodes 3-6 got leaked on one of their websites(in Spanish) so they are releasing the season earlier than they originally planned. Although I doubt they would have really advertised it anyway, since Nick seemingly hates the show(if their treatment of Book 2 is any indication).

Platinum Games prodyct on PC? YOINK! Honestly as much as I hate Naruto due to its obscene filler, CyberConnect2 has done an excellent job of making Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games look and play how games based on Shonen Action Anime's should look and play.

I know Legend of Korra isn't technically an amine, but with it's general lack of filler in comparison, and Platinum Games developing, I have high hopes for this game doing even better than the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm franchise in translating that kind of cartoon high powered action to gaming.

So... should I just head straight into Korra or watch the initial series first? Becuase bugger me if I'm missing out on an easy to get Platinum game.
The initial series is probably best, because while Korra stands on its own, watching the original series gives a greater context to things. Also, while Korra is good, with moments of excellence balanced with moments of falling short of itself, I'd probably put ATLA in my top ten, quite possibly top 5 shows that I've seen, it's really great.

As for this game, I have no experience with Platinum, Bayonetta always seemed uncomfortably sexualized for me so I've never bothered with it, and games based on TV or film franchises are usually terrible, so I'm not really drooling at the mouth here - but from most accounts here, Platinum does good work, and a good game set in the Avatarverse would probably bring me no end of enjoyment.

"Legend of Korra game" Oh gee, I can't want for it to be a phoned in mess. Maybe it can try to beat the other avatar game for easiest high level achivements that "From Bayonetta 2 studio"...
Platinum Games doesn't do phoned-in messes. They have one of the strongest track records of any video game studio. Worst case scenario, they don't put in any real effort, and we get a clone of one of their other games, which means it'll still be good.

P.S. Thanks

P.P.S. Edit: I kinda wanna go play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance right now, in fact. Great damn game.

I'm not really interested. I don't think Platinum is that great of a developer, really. Their action-games don't play as well as some of my favorites (Ninja Gaiden Black in particular) and they have this annoying tendency to let spectacle get in the way of good gameplay what with the QTEs and setpieces that many of their games have.

Ah... jeez.

After Avatar, I never watched Legend of Korra.

Now Platinum is making a LoK game? Just... I might have to go back and watch it now before I play it.

Platinum might be the perfect studio to do this right now. They've proven their abilities with different styles of action combat and their capability to work with incredibly different visual styles. On top of that, their experiments with different styles of games just proves how flexible they are. I've wanted a Korra game since first I got into ATLA and LoK (just this past year) and I am so glad a legitimate studio is on it.

Legend of Korra game, n'yeah so what, licensed drivel like all the other... made by Platinum? Go Oooonnnnn!

The Avatar series is one where they could just slap on the generic third person action game and I'd probably like it. Granted my hopes are not set very high, highly ambivalent.

Even if Korra lacked the strong second season Last Airbender had... thats ok...

Because the best dev team in the industry responsible for an insane track record of great character action games will be tackling this with their magic fingers so that we can forget about Book 2's horrible writing. And which will likely be deep in the combat department, satisfying to play, and just overall good, period.
Same can be said about the OST...

RULES OF BENDING!

I'm pretty excited by this news. I'm a big fan of Legend of Korra, and the game's got Tim Hedrick, one of the better writers from Avatar The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra (for those familiar with the episodes, he wrote "City of Walls and Secrets" and "The Puppetmaster" in ATLA, and "Beginnings Part 2" and "A New Spiritual Age" in LoK, just to name a few). They seem to be making an original story with this game, bringing closure to the Equalist storyline. And of course there's an actual developer, Platinum Games, making it, who can be trusted to make a decent game with a pedigree such as Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, and Vanquish.

I'm also intrigued by this turn-based strategy game being developed for 3DS. Fire Emblem style Legend of Korra? Yes please!

There better be some kickass bending chain combos in this game!

Other than that... It's been a while since I bought a game based on an animated series that I liked... (The last one was Adventure Time: HIKWYSOG?!) Activision better not screw up the publication... because Platinum can do no wrong in my eyes...

*re-reads OP* Also, "download"? Uh... Okay... I'll keep that in mind...

The fact that I had to watch a boring movie about a "fake" tomboy fighting between her "identity" and some boy she just met just to see the ONE commercial that specified when Legend of Korra Season 3 was premiering on television makes me still hate Nick's overall advertising department.. (I mean, they had more commercials for the new episodes of Every Witch Way than they did for Legend of Korra that day...)

Eh, the previous Avatar games have all sucked like those free "video games" they used to pack with cereal.

If someone makes a good game then I'll be pretty happy. I just wish Ang had gotten a better game as I prefer him far more than miss angst.
