"I honestly felt like Microsoft was trying to push the industry forward. Innovate in ways that the other Big 2 didn't."
Is he serious, is this guy serious? Do you truly believe that there intent was anything other than the facilitation of a system that would enslave it's owners to a monopolistic media outlet where they can take away your games if you don't sign on every 24 hours and restrict you from exchanging games with friend? Xbone deserves a continuing, burning hatred for all it stood for. Don't let Microsoft off the hook because they pulled a 180, it just further proves that they had no "vision" for the future. If that were so they would have stuck to their ideals. What the Xbone represents is the penultimate example of corporate hubris. Trying to unabashedly cram anti consumer products down our throat. They thought the gaming community to consist entirely of fools. They didn't count on many media outlets turning on them. They didn't count on PS4 having the greatest poker face in the history of console release. They didn't count on the enormous backlash among the core gaming community.
In the end, when the preorder numbers came out, they crammed into the board room, and succumbed to cowardice! They realized that we aren't yet as stupid as they thought we were. "Some are. Some are willing to put up with our terrible asinine policies just to play Halo, but many are leaving us" they explained to one another. In the end, they had to concede that their plan to enslave their consumers had failed, and they went back on their "promise of progress". They have earned every bit of anger, disdain, ire and venom that they have had directed at them. If you think that this is innovation, than you are sadly a sheep, easily led to slaughter. If you want family sharing, share with your family, you don't need xbone to let you share.
P.S. I bet you think FOX tells the truth as well (disclaimer, MSNBC and CNN are also terrible)
P.P.S The Prism Kinect/PRISM thing has already been covered, and is damning not only to the Microsoft Company, but to the entire American Criminal Government system. But I will not bring politics into this. This is about gaming, not politics.
