Gandalf the Grey. He fights Balrogs and doesn't afraid of anything.

Yeah, I'd give this to Gandalf as well. Against a tooled up Nerevarine however, I'm not sure... By the end of Bloodmoon you're taking on and beating the persona of literal gods.

And that's before you get into the various mechanic abuse you can do in that game. I remember one-shotting Almalexia and her hands with an area effect spell once via alchemy.

Commander Shepherd verses Revan.

I'd give this to Revan. At the start of the game you're basically special-forces level, rapidly defeating numerically superior forces, albeit with difficulty.
But by the end Revan doesn't even need weapons or equipment; you can just wander around on your own, in your underwear, throwing around various forcepowers to which entire squads of elite enemy forces will be almost entirely helpless.

I would give almost everything I own to see this happen.

OT: Kirito from Sword Art Online vs. Hiro Protagonist. Both are super swordsmen inside computer universes, so let's see who's actually better. It would likely come down to whose universe they were in - Hiro would rock it in the Metaverse, but Kirito has all those stupid abilities in SAO. I imagine Hiro would win in the real world, too.

Zapp Brannigan VS Captain Quark, in any sort of combat situation (My knowledge of Ratchet and Clank is limited to the original and Size Matters, so, if Quark got competent somewhere along the line, I'd still bet on Zapp for shear dumb luck alone.)

Armor-less Samus Aran VS Pikmin-less Captain Olimar (scaled up and without life support limitations), in a surviving off the land contest

Ridley (specifically his shrill, screeching Metroid Fusion incarnation that probably destroyed some GBA speakers) VS the Dovahkiin, in a Singstar match

It can just be endlessly interpreted because nobody really knows how their universe's physics would work with each other, like, would a Sith be able to deflect a spell (like Avada kedavra, the killing curse) with their lightsaber? and how would the witch/wizards power to read minds affect the battle?

This is a really one sided match in favor of Star Wars simply for the fact that most wizards from Harry Potter need their wands to channel their magic. All a Force user has to do is grab or swat away the wand with their telekinesis and the magic user is screwed.

How about Paul Altreides fighting against Ender Wiggins? Not with weapons, mind you, but with armies. Give them equal forces with equal tech, give them time to practice with their new militaries and devise strategies, and take away Paul's super future powers, and we could a thallus have a good matchup. And keep them about the same age, of course.

I also want to see Han Solo and Indiana Jones get in a fist fight. Maybe in a bar.

However, Force users are also trained in martial combat as well and use the Force to boost their speed, agility, and reflexes. This would allow them to easily dodge projectile spells (instant spells like Sectumsempra would still hit) in order to get in close to use their lightsabers offensively. Thats not even counting the possibility of them being able to block spells with Force powers.

This back and fourth is exactly why I think HP vs. SW are such great match ups, there are so many 'ifs' involved.

HP universe can also apparate (essentially instantly teleport), and would protego protect against lightsaber blows? if we assume that lightsabers can deflect spells then we would also have to assume a protego spell could deflect a lightsaber/force lightning.

Anyway, just so you know, I've always been on the side of SW, I would like to believe any decent Sith could take a wizard but I saw these types of match-ups on a forum a while back and it made me stop and think, there are so many little things from each universe that could turn it for either one of them.

Anyway, for an interesting teamup, I'd like to see Kamina VS Grown-up Simone from Gurren Lagann. Also Gordon Freeman VS GLaDOS. One stubborn mute person almost made her crazier than...well she already was. I can't imaging what going up against another would do to her.

Grown up Simone would straight up body Kamina. By his own admission, he wasn't nearly as strong or as fearless as his persona suggested, his real talent was inspiring and finding the best in others.

I would love to see a five way fight between Jaime Lannister, Barristan Selmy, Arthur Dayne, Aragorn, and Geralt of Rivia. All five are considered to be the best of the best in their respective fictions.

Aragorn, easily. He's got 80+ years of fighting experience in 20 year old body. Basically, more experience then Barristan in a body that's more fit then Jaime. Besides, we haven't seen them do much. Mostly we just hear about how great they are. Geralt may be a tougher fight, depending on how strong he is. I've only read a few of the Witcher books. I vaguely remember him taking a potion that let him fight for, like, three days, but Aragorn can basically do that anyway, because of his Dunedain blood, while Geralt presumably wouldn't be able to rely on curatives or potions. Unless he has some trick I'm unaware of (which is entirely possible) I would give it to Aragorn. It actually annoyed me that Martin said Jaime could take Aragorn in a fight. Not anything against Jaime, of course, Aragorn is past peak human.

Berserker Guts vs Knight Artorias (before he went coo coo for coa coa puffs)

Jar Jar Binks vs. Snarf Snarf

Geralt is about 100 or so and he is considered one of the best if not the best swordsman in the world. I could see him and Aragorn having an epic fight. Even though Selmy is older I could see him giving Aragorn some trouble. I feel they would equally respect one another because of their honor.

Jaime Lannister vs Boromir would be a good fight.

The Harry Potter characters fighting the Fullmetal Alchemist characters would be awesome. I could see Alchemy winning out in the end.

Wow, really? Geralt may be able to take the fight then, that's pretty impressive. In terms of skill, I thing Selmy would probably be comparable to Aragorn or Geralt. He may even be better if they were on a more even fighting ground. A 25 year old Selmy, for instance, could possibly take a 25 year old Aragorn. The main advantage for Aragorn and Geralt, I think, would simply be their skill matched with their strength, vigor, and age. It wouldn't really be fair to poor Selmy, since he's the most human of the characters, but I think he'd put in a good fight, at the very least.

I could possibly see Jaime taking Boromir. Based on the books, Boromir would probably be stronger, but Jaime could possibly be more fluent with a sword, and would probably be much faster. It could go either way, honestly.

Khal Drogo vs Lurtz would be an amusing fight. No finesse, just raw carnage.

A fight I want to see that I will never see is Robert Baratheon during his rebellion age fighting against Gregor Clegane and Greatjon Umber. All three are considered to be extremely strong.
