oh god yes. i loved my army men. I had hundreds of the buggers. MOst of them met death with melting though. When i recreated the normandy landings i had to use real fire for my flamethrowers xD
others received dismemberments and decapitations from fighting my plastic dinosaurs and godzillas xD

Anyone who has read Calvin & Hobbes knows that the cardboard box is the greatest toy ever.
This to the power of infinity...(!) Best toys a kid can have: a cardboard box and a hyperactive imagination = unending fun.

Lego and Transformers. Always loved toys that did things instead of just sitting there inertly. Not in that 'batteries not supplied' sort of way that seems to have grown on the toy industry like a cancer, but stuff like alternate forms and secret compartments.

Before Minecraft, we had these.
Lego is the most beautiful invention
I also had (still have, actually) a Millennium Falcon, X-Wing and TIE Fighter as well as Luke, Han, Chewie and Darth Vader action figures. They were my main toys as a kid, as well as the aforementioned Lego and box. I'll never ever get rid of my Star Wars toys

I had hours of fun with those little plastic soldiers. My grandad even built this huge german castle where I'd set them all of them up on the towers and walls and try to shoot them down with these metal howitzer models that fired matchsticks.

Hotwheels! I still have all of my Hotwheels in a bucket in my closet! Anything you could build stuff with is a close second though Legos, Mega-blox, Kinetix, and now Magnetix. I never really got a box, I feel left out. =(

I think, despite the fact that sticks and cardboard boxes are both great toys, it's silly to put them on this list. I mean, when you chronicle the invention of toys, there was never really an "Invention" point for sticks or Cardboard Boxes. They just kind of got assimilated, and I don't think putting them on this list adds any meaningful information.

One of my favorite Spongebob episodes ever had to be Idiot Box. As you can guess, the whole episode had to do with Spongebob buying a huge TV just to play in the box. ("I didn't think it would work!") Although I never played in a box, I can see the allure.

On that list though, my favorite would have to be LEGOs. I used to have a whole room dedicated to them when I was like 10. The floor would literally have a coating of LEGOs.

Sadly a few years ago I built all of my sets to make sure I had the piece and sold them on ebay.

Well I was also a fan of legos, then I moved onto Bionicle. I even got into the lore until they destroyed it, then burned the remains.

Also, has anyone ever tried piling stuffed animals onto a fan then turned the fan on at the fastest speed? Try it, hilarity will ensue.
Those plastic eyes really hurt

Generally super hero stuffs. I remember a Street Shark toy, the blue guy, that I absolutely loved. Never even watched street sharks, but he had a fin that would pull back and open his mouth and his skin was this weird sort of rubber that... intrigued me, I guess.

I loved LEGO, but I LOVED ACTION MAN! (That was probably how eloquent I was when I was 5 years old)

Legos for the win. Also, I live in Rochester (the town in which the Hall of Fame is located.)

They even have a cool timeline of video games exhibit!
