Here's ma favorite dubstep track, If you ask me this is Skrillex's best song, way better than Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.
oh and Noisia's remix of Deadmau5' Raise your weapon is pretty good too...

it doesn't get dub-ey untill about halfway through though...

Let's not.

(insert trollface here)

Okay, okay... seriously... I actually only popped in here to see if anyone recommended anything interesting that I liked. So far, not too shabby. The pickings are decent enough. I might be convinced to pay some closer mind.

Anyways, I'll take my leave.

Just didn't feel right to listen to all this music and not say anything.

Well, if anything, I prefer calmer stuff as opposed to the stereotypical heavy "wub wub" noise.

Here's one that I particularly enjoy:

I really do like Blackmill, and well, here's more if you enjoy that:

I play a massive amount of Dubstep on my radio station. I don't mind Skrillex's music in general, but his style is far removed from the original genre that it leans into a more dub electro feel. /hipster rant about music.

Anyway, stuff you need to check out would be;

Ugh... As a college student I'm sick of hearing about it. Frankly it just strikes me as being this generations disco, dumb easy to make music that's easy to dance to and I predict a massive backlash in it's future.

Well then, why come into a discussion about it and comment? Do you think your going to change anyones opinion on it?

This album for Rustie has got bits and pieces of dubstep in it, if that's what you're into. Personally, it makes me smile inside, especially this track.

Also, first "dubstep" artist I ever heard. Straight bass drones get to ya after a while:

I'm sad you just got into Dubstep as it is rapidly dying, however much like any dying genre it's going to get epic before it goes.

Might I recommend Knife Party's newest EP "%100 No Modern Talking". It's absurdly fun and free on their soundcloud. Look into Flux Pavillion if you want Dubstep at it's most melodic (the song Cracks is epicly beautiful), Doctor P if you want it dirty (Watch Out is great, also Big Boss), Brown and Gammon if you want it funky (Blow My Mind or their remix of Baxta's "Jurassic"), and to round out my general Circus records promotion Roksonix are also quite epic.

Also if you don't know who Skrillex is you may want to listen to Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, but be sure your brain is melt proof before you hit play.

If you want a taste of the future of EDM check out Moombahton. Specifically Dillion Francis ("I.D.G.A.F.O.S." is mind bending), or Doctor P's remix of "The License" (this song is so good I'm sharing it here, listen to it if you listen to nothing else I've recommended: http://youtu.be/Ip5JcQnlDug ). Quick Protip: when listening to dubstep, or any EDM really, be sure to up it to HD, as the bass really requires that quality to sound right.

PFFBT! It's easy to make shitty dubstep. Good dubstep blends a LARGE number of techniques from all genres of EDM, making it absurdly hard to produce. Take it from someone who's studying it, sound synthesis is no joke, and it takes a lot of work and knowledge to make those bass lines so meaty.

1 - trust me its not easy to dance to and i very very rarely hear it played consistently in all but a very small number of clubs, nightclubs for example will only play 1-2 dubstep songs per-night (unless they have a dedicated dubstep DJ playing). i consider it more akin to this generations metal. its popularity i think is spurred on from the fact that nothing really has sounded like it before and with its fanbase being rather young its future is still to be decided. Also i would argue that disco has re-emerged as hardstyle (which has alot of the same features)

oh and i almost forgot

Unfortunately I can't see youtube embeds from work, so I cannot see what anyone else has put, but I reccomend getting The Sound of Dubstep albums (Pecifically the first and 2nd) there you will hear examples of all the different styles of dubstep, form your mainstream Nero/Magnetic man kind of stuff, to your underground/urban chillout Burial, Phaeleh, Kryptic Minds kind of stuff, and then on to the 'Traditional' wobbly bass stuff like Bar9, Dr P and Flux Pavillion, and the D&B stuff like nosia!

Some of my favourites:
Phaeleh, (All of his 4 album are good, but IMO Fallen Light is the best, and the Cold In You comes in close 2nd!)
Doorly's dubstep remix of Raindrops by Basement Jaxx
Chase and Status' 'We just bought guitars' remix of Heartbeats by Nneka
End Titles by Chase and Status
Guilt by Nero (In fact the whole of Nero's album)
16bit's remix of Machine Gun by Noisia
The Bug by Magnetic Man
Skream's 'Let's get Ravey' remix of In for the Kill by La Roux
Flux Pavillion's remix of Gold Dust by DJ fresh, and also his remix of Cracks by Freestylers
Anything by Cookie Monsta

And then for a treat.. (and because this is on the escapist...) Check out Ephixa. He has an album on his website (ephixa.com) that is availiable for a donation, and is called Zelda Step! Its all remix's of Ocarina of Time tracks, including Lost Woods, (which is my favourite) and as a bonus, there are also some Dubstep Rap versions of these songs too, with some awesome lyrics!!
I am the chosen one
The one to ride in the golden sun

The only one
Who never had a fairy growing up

I was told to run
Until my journey is over and done

Save her from his clutch
I know that I can?t till I?m old enough

I am the chosen one
to slay all the evil with no remorse

A faster horse
And kill all my foes with the master sword

Find the triforce
And keep it away from the man I swore
To kill
Running through the woods
And without a map
Listen to the sounds
I found a trap

Got my sword and ocarina
To fend off hordes of awful demons
If you gonna think you can get through me
Then you can get on my deku seeds

And deku stick, I beat you with
Ya?ll are fake, I see you in my
Lens of truth
Then I grew
Into a man
With the song of time

Song of time?
- That?s my jam
Make it rain Rupees cause I can

Look at all my clothes, you say I?m flossing
Red, Blue, Green to slay the bosses

- And I love these hoes
Zelda and Saria yo

Ganondorf ain?t got this swag
Light arrows go in his ass
Watch me pass
On my ride
Got my Epona tonight

Zombies in the Hyrule field
without a shield Now to deal
my hookshot!
Din?s fire looking hot!

Running through the woods
And without a map
Listen to the sounds
I found a trap

Fairies what I should?ve got
Man, these hearts are not enough
Make it rain with stormy songs
Owl is talking way too long

Hurry up! No time to chat
Cause I got a deadline to find my way back.
Minus the fact I got my keys
make it to the next room, lost for weeks
Watching me
Like Poe?s ghost
Bout to kill the boss, I?m so close

Now I am defending
The Kingdom from the henchmen
I want it on my pendant
The Triforce on my necklace

Lost in the woods
I Thought I could
Find a way out
Any day now
I Take a left
I Take a right
I Take a step
I see the light

Navi says to

Running through the woods
And without a map
Listen to the sounds
I found a trap

Bouncing back, no game over
Yeah you know bombing all these big ass boulders

- I got milk
From a talking cow
I once helped
- Malon and myself
To be a notch on my belt

Killing all these spiders
My Rupees getting higher

My boomerang is awesome
I?m shooting all these goblins

With my slingshot.
I?m Link on the
brink of
finding shiek

My name is known all across the earth
From Lake Hylia to Gerudo desert

You knew I?m better
Nabooru wants me
I sure am hungry
For magic beans

It?s sad to see
Me owning all these
Zombies and the
Shadow beasts

Come out at night
Along with dogs
Which one is right?
I?m good to fight

My kicks will let me float on air
Nike flights

Running through the woods
And without a map
Listen to the sounds
I found a trap

I?m about to snap
I feel the power
Spin around once
You?re going downwards

- Don?t mess with me
My master sword
Is the best you see
My energy is 30 hearts
So we got a long time
Before I start

- You?re testing me?
Bombchu coming at your feet
About to get the mask you see
I got the stone of agony

I?m glad to be your majesty
The hero of the odyssey

Death mountain isn?t this hot
Medallions on my wristwatch

Lost in the woods
I Thought I could
Find a way out
Any day now
I Take a left
I Take a right
I Take a step
I see the light

I still consider the Mau5 a Progressive House artist who likes to dabble in Dubstep.
