Yeah, I suppose as a gay gamer, the only things that annoy me are the overuse of homophobic slurs in multiplayer games (Which I don't really play anyway) and the American localizations of certain games scrubbed out references to gay characters, for example the aforementioned Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Because, all the kids are scarred forever if an adorable little crossdressing boy has a crush on Mario...
Perpetuation of stereotypes annoys me as well, but that seems to be becoming less and less of a problem. I can't say I was a huge fan of how BioWare made everyone Bi in order to satisfy homosexual relationships, but I'd rather have that than no options, and I liked the romances we were given. I'm looking forward to Skyrim doing the same. I think the only things that really annoy me about "the gaming community's" views towards LGBT people apply to society in general...
