Life and massive post count

Is there a connection between these two factors?. Putting it bluntly I am asking if there is a connection between users with a massive post count and mere joblessness on the internet and to clarify I do not mean that as an insult but I don't know how to phrase it for a lack of a better word.

It stands to reason that people who gather a large post number over a prolonged period like a year is reasonable, since it would mean a healthy and paced posting habbit. However, people that that gain the same amount of posts in say half that time is a conundrum for me. How is that possible and what is the psychology behind it?.

Is it a logical conclusion that these people who gain rapid post counts in a short time are lacking what is rather unscienifically called a life or is there more to it?. It is just a sterotype?. Again I dont mean to offend anyone, just genuinely curious as to what you all think.

You just post in every thread you see I guess. I didn't do that but I did post in every thread I liked.

It's just a stereotype.

I have school, I do my homework, I hang out with friends. I have a life. Same with Furburt.

It all depends on what you would qualify as a 'life'.
They have high post counts and they are breathing, then they have a life.
If they have no biological functions, then they would not be posting.
Unless they are some form of A.I. , in which case I demand they reveal themselves immediately so I can worship them.

They're pretty clearly inversely proportional.

And if that theory pans out then I most have the most of a life out of anyone here, less than 900 posts in 4 years? Epic.

But I mean if you have 3+ hours a day to post on here, I kind of question what kind of a life that is. Especially considering the dubious discussion value of 90% of the threads on here. I can't see me going up to my girlfriend and discussing the relation between post counts and life having to her, its not a generally 'good' discussion to have outside of say... here... meaning it pretty much has no value. Same with all other threads about this place. Mostly discussion value comes from threads that are either news related, or possibly philosophy related.

I see what you're saying. However I've been posting since the summer and I barely have 200 posts, yet as a uni student I have a lot of free time which I spend reading these forums. If I posted in every thread I read then I'd probably be up there with the likes of NeonBob and such. Thats how much time I spend here.

And then theres those who get huge post counts in short time spans, but a lot of them seem to hang out in the forum games, which ups your post count no end.

So really a persons post count on here only has partial relation to how much of a life they actually have.

EDIT: Funny I should say that... 200th post :)

Just depends on what you want from the forum. My post count seems to be relatively small considering my join date. You might deduce that I am a busy person from that...on the contrary...I have shit all going on.

I suppose those people like to share they're opinions more, and arn't afraid to do so.

I've been on this site for about half a year, but I don't post in every topic I go into, which is why my post count is much less.

This really.

For me I'm just good at multi tasking. I hold a conversation with a thread on facebook or do homework as I post.

EDIT: When you do a calculation, it shows that I post about 40 post a day. Thats not that much. Especially if I go into the forum games.

I tend to read a lot more threads than I post in. If somebody has said the exact same thing as I was going to, then I will normally leave the thread alone, I'll also normally only post once per thread. I see others however, who will post multiple times and reply to everyone else's comments etc. I think that's the main difference.

Depends on the frequency of posting!.

According to my calculations from (t= 1/f) if your frequency is higher than 0.090, then yes..you have no life, regardless of all the extracurricular shit you do off-line.

I used to post incredibly frequently (80 posts per 5 hours maybe?) but then I calmed down a helluva a lot, and if I were like how I am right now at the start of my joining, I'd have like 700 posts instead of 3200 or whatever.

There's probably a connection.
To be honest, I only really post here when I'm at uni. Back home, I'll come on every so often but nowhere near as much. I'd like to think I've struck a balance...

So you hang out with friends in school, doing your homework and posting all at the same time?
