i hope I'm not the only one that thinks this...

but i really don't care any more i mean bioshock figure was OK GTA 4 limited edition looked ''cool'' just doesn't seem worth it really..seriously fable 2 limited edition (before microsoft canceled it) looked fucking awesome!

apparently wasn't fit for sale...=[

My point is...do you think its worth spending that extra cash?

No. It's just a game, I don't want any stupid figurines or pretty boxes.

For me it depends on a few things:
1. How much I really want the game.
2. The difference in price.
and 3. Of course what it comes with it.
If it's something I've been looking forward to for a while and is only slightly more expensive (or sometimes equal in price) and has decent things with it then yeah I'll buy it.
Not always worth it though, look at the SR2 one, there was little that made me want to buy the special edition for that.

very rarely. Unless you are a hardcore fan or there's something special in there. Figures, making of DVDs, soundtracks, posters and ingame bling bling doesn't count (unless it's fist class bling bling :p)

That depends; for some games, all I want is the game. Some of the limited edition spiffy-things don't really draw me either... I regret getting the lunchbox version of Fallout 3 now as I don't have anywhere to display the lunchbox, the "making-of" DVD felt a bit scanty, and though the bobble-head was kinda nifty it's not something that I would seek out. (The art booklet is nice, though.) However, Halo geek that I am I have no regrets for my Legendary Edition with helmet and bonus DVD; the extras were worth it to me.

So for me it depends upon the game and what's in the limited edition set.

i love the art books included in some limited editions, they are pretty good quality, but really as above the limited edition really comes down to a. how much of a fan you are for the game, b. the quality of the extra's (this is also a good incentive for developers to sway the curve of piracy.)

It depends on what you get. I don't pay 10? more for concept art, a little book etc. but if the limited edition contains stuff like older installments of a series (the Fallout 3 limited edition box could have had this) then I would buy it.

The Saint's Row 2 LE was only £5 more and came with a T-shirt and USB bullet. Now that was value! The only other LE's I've ever bought are ones that were the same price as the regular edition. God knows why they sell them for the same price but you might as well get the extra stuff when it's free. I was thinking about buying the Halo Wars LE because it actually comes with maps for Halo 3 which is something I might actually want.

If it's a good collector's edition, why not.

I'm thinking about buying Diablo 3 SE, but not sure if it'll be worth, knowing my country's developer.

Most collectors editions are only a couple of pound/dollars more than the game so I usually pick one up if I have the cash.
I find little uses for the extra content.
Example: The Fallout 3 collectors lunchbox is really good storage for PS3 game cases, it looks nice if you stick like 15 games inside it.

But I am a sucker for making off featurettes, art books, cheap plastic toys, so I'll buy anything.

I really am a victim of marketing campaigns...
