So basically here is the reasoning:
Actress/musician Lindsay Lohan has filed a lawsuit against financial company E-Trade, arguing that a recent high-profile advert by the company violates her image rights.

The advertisment, which first aired during the Superbowl last month, depicts a "milkaholic" baby named Lindsay. Lohan's attorneys argue that the blonde child is modeled after her and uses her name and characterisation in business without her permission. It is argued that Lohan has the same level of name-recognition as Oprah and Madonna.

Lohan's attorneys demand that the ad be pulled, that all existing copies be turned over to her, and that $100 million be paid in compensation for the distress caused.

Chris Brown, the unfortunately-named spokesman for the company that produced the add, said that it's: "just used a popular baby name that happened to be the name of someone on the account team."

The original ad can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/ya9v2kx

All I can say is wow! I hope that lawyer fee is expensive so that she ends up thoroughly in the hole on this one as there is no way in hell she should win this. Its pretty laughable that she thinks her name is big enough that if anyone uses the word Lindsay they are automatically talking about her...

I demand ten thousand dollars from any brown haired person named Josh. I accept cash, check, or video games as currency.

So this is how 'celebrities' earn money when they see their popularity dropping :p

It's pretty ridiculous (and vain) that she thinks anyone called Lindsay has anything to do with her. I know quite a lot of people called Lindsay, and they were born long before her name ever entered the media.

To be fair, many celebrity magazines and TV shows have referred to her as "Lindsay" as opposed to "Lindsay Lohan", "Lohan", "Miss Lohan", or "LiLo" ever since Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. Maybe in her mind she is the only Lindsay on the planet and whenever she hears the name elsewhere she assumes it's either referencing her or mocking her. That comes with having an ego the size of... well... hers. This isn't stopping me from wanting to see her lawsuit cave in on her though.

I had heard about this on the radio. This is so stupid, Lindsay is a common name especially now. She needs to get off her high horse and let it go.

Poor soul?

She's made tons of money off those shit movies and blew it all on partying, cocaine and redbull. It's her own goddamn fault.

And by the way, this was posted yesterday.

Not as mad as Tim Langdell's paranoid litigations with anyone using the word "Edge".

Asking for $100 million is pushing it!
Asking for anything but a slap is pushing it.
I agree...and what the hell is she going to do with the rest of the copies that are to be handed to her? frame them for her wall to boost her ego even more perhaps

That's just sad. She's just being a stuck-up *****. It just happened to be a popular baby girl's name, geez, it doesn't mean anything. The name 'Lindsay' doesn't have any copyright claim to it. At least, the English and Scots haven't thought about it yet.
