I'm not talking about a one-shot deal where it took you twenty minutes to take down Onyxia alone in WoW, but rather of all the bosses you've beaten, which took the most time, on average?

Personally, I think mine would be K. Rool in DK64. With all the cinematics in it and the fact that you have to play as all the Kongs really padded it out.

Second place probably goes to Shaolin Monks, for the last three bosses (if you count them as one boss fight), for more painfully long unskippable fatality cutscenes and just generally taking a long fucking time.

Red Faction: Guerilla has one of the longest ending levels i've ever played, followed closely by Star Trek Voyager Elite Force.

When I played Mario and Luigi: Partner's in Time for the first time, I skipped a lot of fights because it was relatively boring. Because of that, my level was way to low for the final boss... but the thing is, all of the boss's attacks were easy as hell to dodge. So I fought, for three hours, to kill that ************.

It totally was... not worth it. At all.

FFXII's Yiazmat with its 50 million HP will inevitably take some time. I usually clock in at about 2 hours.

I believe, for me, it was Jet Force Gemini's boss, Mizar. That guy was freaking invincible and I remember trying it for an entire day straight before I finally beat it. Words can't explain the euphoria that rushed through my veins when that bastard finally keeled over.

the mole train, donkey kong country returns, mirror mode, I can't even count how long it took to beat that one.

Wasn't there some boss in Final Fantasy 11 that took 24 hours to defeat? Anyway, the Archdemon in Dragon Age Origins always took a lot of time for me to defeat. What with him flying around making me have to shoot him with the ballista which took forever.

Huh? That was kinda a chaotic boss fight but it wasn't really that long.

Final Boss of Persona 3. Not really a difficult fight but it's going to last at least half an hour.

has to be the leviathan from dead space as i think i started trying that in may, and finished it in august. purely because it was so boring and by the time i went back to it, i'd forgotten the game completely and had to restart...
does that count?

Bad Girl and Henry in No More Heroes (Wii). I still drank back then, and the boss battles were so involved that my ritual became buying a 6 pack or more and settling in for a good hour and a half to two hours at a time, sometimes just fighting one boss.

I was unable to find a video of the whole thing. Immediately after this, Travis tries to get up and passes out from exhaustion. Very fittingly meta.

I'd put in a number of bosses from God of War 2, at least when playing on Titan Difficulty. Even if it wasn't the longest, it sure felt like it was taking forever, especially against the Giant Barbarian King. One can only take so much rolling and chip damaging.

This boss can either be the shortest fight in the game(literally you assassinate him before you'd encounter him as a boss). Or the longest(if you don't play the game long enough during the boss fight he literally dies of old age). Then there is the middle ground of hunting him down which can be easy once you done it before.

Aside from that, just about any Final Fantasy ending boss.

The longest one I've had was when I had to fight Ming Xiao in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

The fight with Shiro Tagachi, at the end of the Gates of Madness in Guild Wars Eye of the North Nightfall. Once, my party was fighting him for over an hour, and then we just quit. The thing was, he had killed everyone of us several times, and the DP was really ranking up, to the point he was killing people within a few strikes. The only thing that prevented a whipe was one party member tactfully running around and ressurecting people.
